Finn, still screaming, flailed uselessly as he and Ignis plummeted toward the river below.
"IS THIS YOUR IDEA OF SAVING ME?!"
Ignis winked mid-fall. "Of course, darling! Nothing bonds lovers like shared near-death experiences!"
Finn screamed louder.
Just before they hit the water, Ignis twisted midair and—
BOOM.
—landed feet-first, the impact sending a shockwave across the river, parting the water for a brief moment before gravity remembered how it worked.
Finn, miraculously unharmed, lay sprawled in the mud, wheezing.
Ignis, sitting on his chest, beamed. "Wasn't that romantic?"
Finn sobbed. "I HATE EVERYTHING."
Ignis leaned in, eyes twinkling. "Don't worry, Finn~! Soon you'll realize you love me, and we'll be married under a sky of burning airships!"
Finn, still trapped, internally screamed.
