Chapter 26: Unlocking a Side Quest — Hunting Villains
Top floor of Fisk Tower.
Kingpin, like a war elephant commanding his army, issued the attack order to his mercenaries through a wireless earpiece.
As soon as he finished speaking—
Three dark figures shot out like arrows from a bow.
Kraven, Taskmaster, and Batroc—all fully armed and exuding murderous intent.
The pale-skinned Tombstone followed closely behind.
Waves of scorching heat distorted the air around him, scorching the darkness beneath every step he took.
Bullseye, meanwhile, hid in the deepest shadows.
Watching Jiang Feng casually tear through ninjas like squashing ants, cold sweat slid down his spine and soaked his collar.
"This isn't a man—this is a walking war machine."
Bullseye was thoroughly terrified by Jiang Feng's power and had no intention of engaging.
At the same time, he was curious—
Just how strong were Taskmaster and the others, that they still dared to confront someone like Jiang Feng after seeing his destructive power?
"Better to stay alive. Survival is the smartest move."
Bullseye obediently hid in the back, clutching a portable camera—acting as Kingpin's battlefield livestreamer.
At that moment,
He looked exactly like a coward hiding in a trench.
Amid the potholes of Hell's Kitchen, Jiang Feng stood like a demon god, clearing out the remaining survivors on the battlefield.
He reached out with his massive metal palm and grabbed the final ninja's head.
With a slight squeeze, he hoisted the man up.
The ninja struggled like a dying insect,
Slashing wildly with his katana against Jiang Feng's arm.
But the armor encasing Jiang Feng was indestructible.
The sword struck the steel with nothing but hollow clangs—useless.
Crack!
With a dull crunch, the ninja's skull burst like an overripe watermelon.
Crimson fluid splashed across the armor's surface,
Dripping down its angular contours like a devil's medal of honor.
Just then—
The sensors in Jiang Feng's armor blared to life,
Detecting several enemies nearby closing in at high speed.
He had already sensed them.
Special life signals—far beyond ordinary human levels—were lurking nearby.
"Named villains from Marvel's plotlines, huh?"
"Finally," Jiang Feng muttered,
His voice echoing through the silent street as he locked on to four fast-approaching heat signatures.
Whoosh—
The sharp sound of something tearing through the air—like the scream of the Reaper.
It was Kraven the Hunter, unable to suppress his bloodlust, who launched the first attack.
A spear, wrapped in overwhelming force, came hurling from behind.
Kraven's strength and speed far surpassed the ninjas from earlier.
This weapon—crafted from the bones of ancient beasts and forged with a special alloy—
Tore a vacuum in the air as it flew.
But Jiang Feng had already anticipated the attack.
With catlike agility, his bulky frame twisted aside.
His metal palm clamped down like an iron vise—grabbing the spear midair.
Boom!
As the two forces collided,
The ground beneath him cracked like a spiderweb.
His feet sank deep into the asphalt, and the flying debris shot out like bullets in every direction.
"Kneel! Offer up your skull!"
Kraven roared like a beast, the veins bulging across his wild, hairy face, his eyes filled with bloodlust.
To him, killing this mechanical monster, unmasking his true identity,
And carving his skull into a trophy was the very reason for coming.
Kraven's strength was enough to wrestle Spider-Man.
Now, all that brute force was concentrated into the spear, aiming to pin Jiang Feng to the spot.
Unlike the feeble attacks from the Hand ninjas—
Though both used melee weapons, the threat from Kraven was on a whole other level.
If this were a regular armored vehicle, it would have been pierced clean through.
If only the previous ninjas had been this strong,
Maybe Jiang Feng really could've been cut down by a blade.
Kraven looked like a true beast—
His lion-skin coat revealing massive, bulging muscles with mountain-crushing strength.
Clang!
A deafening metallic crash rang out.
Jiang Feng's two-meter-tall armored suit actually shook from the brute force.
More shocking still—
The tip of Kraven's custom spear left a small dent on the armor's surface.
That ultra-hard alloy—capable of stopping sniper rounds—
Was actually deformed under Kraven's blow.
And yet—
Jiang Feng showed not a trace of concern.
He only wanted to ask one thing:
"Why does everyone insist on fighting me in close combat?"
He sighed internally,
Still unable to understand why these opponents were so obsessed with melee attacks.
Next moment—
Jiang Feng locked the spear in his grip,
The steel-clad clamp of his hand refusing to budge no matter how much Kraven strained.
Zzzzt!
A brilliant arc of electricity burst from his armored forearm—
Jiang Feng unleashed a 100,000-volt shock.
Silver arcs of lightning danced like mad serpents across the spear's surface.
Powered by a high-grade blue fuel cell,
Not only could the Iron Suit operate long-term, it could also unleash devastating new attacks.
The massive surge of electricity engulfed Kraven,
Filling the air with the acrid stench of burning flesh.
"AAAHHH!!!"
Kraven convulsed uncontrollably,
His hair stood on end, black smoke rising from his body, and his voice turned into an animalistic scream.
Had he been a normal person,
He'd have been instantly fried to a charred corpse.
But Kraven's body was far beyond average.
Though paralyzed and burned,
He still clung to life with sheer willpower.
"Tch, what a stubborn mutt."
Seeing this—
Jiang Feng opened the weapon bay on his arm again and followed up with a few more shots.
The needle-like armor-piercing rounds shot out like silver flashes.
With lightning speed, they struck Kraven's vital points.
The bullets pierced through his skull, heart, and lungs—
Leaving behind a series of bloody holes.
In his paralyzed state,
Kraven couldn't dodge at all.
All his vital organs were hit on the spot.
His eyes widened in shock and disbelief,
That dying expression seemed to ask:
"Why did you shoot? How did you even hit me?"
When hunting other powerful foes in the past—
Even when Kraven engaged in melee,
They rarely retaliated with gunfire.
And if they did—
It was always clumsy, easy to dodge.
Kraven could simply sidestep or leap and easily evade.
But this mysterious, steel-clad opponent
Had instantly locked on and delivered a fatal shot.
With deep unwillingness and confusion in his eyes,
Kraven collapsed and died.
"Ding! You have successfully killed Hunter Kraven. Mechanic and Warrior classes gained 200 XP."
"Ding! Reincarnator Jiang Feng has killed Hunter Kraven. Gained Reincarnation Points: 180."
As the system notifications ended—
Jiang Feng looked down at Kraven's corpse, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Turns out this guy's IQ isn't much better than the ninjas'..."
A villain with access to advanced technology,
Yet still choosing close combat to "feed himself" to a gun-toting, armored opponent—
Jiang Feng truly felt it was absurd.
"Did all these villains get their heads slammed in a door?"
"Ding! You have successfully killed a story villain. Side Quest Unlocked — The Path of the Hunter."
"Mission Objective: Kill five named Marvel Universe villains. Reward: 1 Path Enhancement Selection!"
