LITTLE NOBODY

After Olivia showed me around the campus, we arrived at the courtyard during free period. That's when all the students gathered around me, asking me which family I was from. They laughed at my dress and made jokes about my appearance.

Sonia, who had been watching from the sidelines, stepped forward, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Oh, look what we have here," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "A little country girl who thinks she can just waltz in here and steal the spotlight."

The other students snickered and laughed, and I felt my face grow hot with embarrassment. But then, I saw Xavier standing off to the side, watching the scene unfold with a cold, calculating gaze.

For a moment, our eyes met, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. But then, he turned and walked away

Olivia stormed over to Sonia, her eyes blazing with anger. "Back off, Sonia," she snapped. "You have no right to talk to her like that."

Sonia sneered at Olivia. "Oh, look who's defending the little nobody," she said. "You think you're so much better than me just because of your family's money?"

Olivia's face turned red with rage. "At least my family's money isn't tainted with scandal and corruption," she spat. "Your family's reputation is mud, Sonia."

The courtyard fell silent, with all eyes on the confrontation between Olivia and Sonia. I stood frozen, unsure of what to do.

The silence between Sonia and Olivia was palpable, with neither of them backing down. But then, I decided to speak up.

"You just met me on the first day, and you're already showing off your madness?" I said, looking Sonia straight in the eye. "Don't you think you're crazy?"

Sonia's eyes widened in shock, clearly taken aback by my boldness. Olivia's eyes sparkled with amusement, seemingly impressed by my willingness to stand up for myself.

But I didn't care about any of that. What I cared about was making it clear that I wasn't someone to be messed with. I was always ready to fight for myself, no matter the circumstances.

And I was determined to prove it.

Sonia's face turned red with rage, and she took a step closer to me. "How dare you," she hissed. "You think you can just come here and disrespect me?"

I stood my ground, refusing to back down. "I'm not disrespecting you," I said. "I'm just calling out your nonsense. You're the one who's been throwing insults and acting like a bully. Not me."

The courtyard was silent, with everyone watching the exchange between Sonia and me. Xavier was still standing off to the side, his eyes fixed intently on me.

Olivia, on the other hand, was grinning from ear to ear. "Go, girl," she whispered, her eyes shining with excitement.

Sonia's eyes flashed with anger, but I could see the faintest glimmer of uncertainty in her gaze. She wasn't used to people standing up to her, and she didn't know how to react.

Sonia's face twisted in a scowl, and she took another step closer to me. "You think you're tough, don't you?" she sneered. "Well, let me tell you something, nobody. You're not tough. You're just a pathetic little wannabe who thinks she can take on the likes of me."

I rolled my eyes, unimpressed. "Wow, that's a lot of words just to say you're scared of me," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

The courtyard erupted into gasps and snickers, and Sonia's face turned beet red with rage. Xavier's eyes narrowed, his gaze flicking between Sonia and me.

Olivia, on the other hand, was laughing openly, her eyes shining with amusement. "Oh, this is priceless," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the din of the courtyard.

Sonia's eyes flashed with anger, and she took another step closer to me, her fists clenched at her sides. "You're going to regret this," she hissed, her voice low and menacing.

I smiled sweetly at Sonia. "Nased, please, next time, before coming close to me, try to brush your teeth or use some nice mouth spray. You're not exactly the freshest person I've ever met."

The courtyard fell silent, with everyone staring at me in shock. Sonia's eyes widened, her face pale with rage. No one had ever spoken to her like that before.

But then, something unexpected happened. Xavier, who had been watching the exchange with an unreadable expression, suddenly smiled. It was a small, subtle smile, but it was enough to make everyone's eyes widen in surprise.

Olivia grinned at me, clearly impressed. "Wow, you're a real firecracker, aren't you?" she whispered.

Sonia, on the other hand, looked like she was about to explode. "How dare you!" she hissed, her eyes flashing with anger.

Sonia's eyes flashed with anger, but she seemed to realize she was outnumbered. She turned and stormed off, her entourage following closely behind.

Xavier, who had been watching the exchange with an unreadable expression, simply turned and walked away. I was left standing there, feeling a mix of emotions.

Olivia grinned at me, clearly impressed. "Wow, you really stood up to her!" she exclaimed.

I smiled back, feeling a sense of pride. "Yeah, I guess I did."
