Kouji pressed on, deeper into the dungeon. The walls of rock appeared to be thinner, the air thick. The deeper he went, the more monsters there were—goblins, giant rats, and skeletal soldiers with rusted swords. None of them were a challenge.

He utilized his power again, imbuing his katana with weight just before collision. The added oomph helped him cut through monsters with no effort at all. With each kill, his speed increased, his control of gravity more acute.

After his twentieth monster was killed, yet another system message appeared.

Kouji paused, feeling the difference in his body. He was stronger, his grip tighter, his reflexes quicker. The leveling system in this world really worked.

Something ahead of him caught his attention, though. A growl of a different kind, lower and more ominous. He moved into a large chamber, where a massive beast lay in wait.
