I stood in the right corner as I waited for Katelyn to get ready. She slowly in as a fog started surrounded me getting thicker and thicker. I closed my eyes and felt something change withing my body.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself inside a high school hidden from the outside world where royalty from all over the planet attend school.
------
It's my first day of school at the Maple Academy for Next Generation Royals. Although, my family isn't exactly royalty. My mother used to be a princess, but they found out she could use magic and exiled her as a witch and my father was a pirate.
The year is 778 A.G, the AG stands for: After Glory. Most royalties look down on the lower-class people in this world... noblemen are worthless.
…wait, it's already 7:00 am? I have to go. I opened the door and sprinted down the hallway. The first class start 7:30 am. The school has a rather eye-catching architecture to it.
I stormed into room Lost in Abyss. Apparently, every class had a name that determined who joined it. And since my family isn't really monarchy anymore, I'm in the ground bottom. There are a few people in my class, although it seems even our teacher isn't considered a qualified teacher in this school. What a hassle.
"Now that everyone's here. Good morning, My Name is Agathe Mallette. I'll be your teacher starting today." She spoke. "If you need any help or have any question, please don't hesitate to call on me. Now, please introduce yourselves."
She had blonde wavy long hair, green eyes, and a rather charming and cheerful posture for a noble.
The class had been swollen in a cloak of silence for a couple of minutes until someone creek the floor with the unspeakably loud chair.
"Um… Hi, my n-name is Lilly Erichsen, I'm eighteen. I was born in Denmark, but I moved to ancient Norse territory when I was six. I look f-forward to knowing all of you."
What a beautiful woman. Ginger, with white meshes and a long hair that formed a flower on the back and still went down to her waist. She had blue eyes, pink lipstick, and a little scar between her lips. A true Viking princess.
"Hey, the name's Blackjack. I'm from the Death Waters pirate nation. And I'm sixteen."
Blackjack… His appearance was covered by a mysterious aroma. He wore a large black cloak that reached his legs and was bigger than his hands. The outside of the cloak was black, but it would seem the inside was a darker tone of purple that matched the night sky. He had black hair and chestnut brown eyes. His skin tone was also kinda darkened.
Every pirate knows about Death Waters and its rulers. Blackjack is no different. Even though he's younger, there's a lot of people who would shiver in fear just by hearing his name.
"Hi, my name Ella Bishop. I'm eighteen. I'm from Pomme Tordue."
Pomme Tordue. Twisted Apple. A nation created by witches as a safe haven to escape the witch trials and live a happy life. Ella Bishop. This woman with medium level blonde hair, cherry red lipstick, black eyeliner, intriguing dress design. Is one of the descendants of the first witch in history. BRIDGET BISHOP.
"Hello, my name is Arthur Briggs. I'm sixteen. And I'm from the Lost Seas of the Forgotten."
Arthur Briggs. Dressed in a long white cloak that reached his legs, it had details in gold. He was blonde with blue eyes. A devilish smile. Befitting of a ghost. If I'm not mistaken, his family died aboard the Mary Celeste ship decades ago, and he was the solely survivor, until he died. Lost Seas of the Forgotten is a region where the lost souls go to find a home and to live a life as phantom pirates.
"Annyeonghaseyo. My name is Sim Cheong. I'm seventeen. And I'm from Seong-un-ui bada."
Seong-un-ui bada. Sea of Nebula. Sim Cheong, the girl who sacrificed herself to return her father's eyesight and was given a second chance of life due to her selflessness. There are those who worship her as a deity or at least as the apostle of Amphitrite, the sea Goddess. Sim Cheong had long pale blue hair that took the color and shape of water as she walked giving the effect of a myth. A long blue veil wrapped around her body giving it a unique charm. Her eyes had the reflection of the ocean mixed with the stars, and her smile was like a whisper in the night. Though, of course, there are still those who think she's a fraud.
Well… It was finally my turn.
"Hello, my name is Collen Krinf'eld, I'm eighteen and I'm from a kingdom called Lanttiec Stone."
"I never heard of it." Said Ms. Mallette.
"Oh, It's a small kingdom in the middle of nowhere. It's a bit hard to get there though since it's inside the hidden forest so the path keeps changing." I said.
"The Hidden Forest? I didn't know there was a territory inside it…," said Blackjack.
Ms. Mallette brought out a world map to check it out… she opened it, and everyone went to search for it… trying to find it…
I placed my hand on top of the map and started mumbling some lyrics:
Once Upon a Time
There was a kingdom.
Living far and wide
Hidden from sight.
People passed by
But no one realized.
That once, even once
Someone could try.
A little boy
Wants to get out.
Break free from its cage.
Tried so hard.
But no sees
What's lost.
Is lost.
Nothing is back.
Dark is still dark.
Light fades away
And I never knew.
It would be cruel.
But at least now
With this kingdom
I can try to make it.
Something mine
Suddenly, an unfamiliar territory and label appeared in the map. A spell had been cast.
Every witch and warlock have their own way of casting spells and doing the impossible. Some take over their family tradition, others do rituals, but there are those that feel differently about the world and have the urge to break free from inside their shell, so they need something more meaningful to them, more important that as they connect with it, the magic gets stronger.
A couple moments later the bell rang. We left the classroom and went to our assigned dorms.
"Beneath the Mask: A Symphony of Souls"
In a world of appearances, where masks conceal the soul,
We weave our tales of judgment, letting shallow notions take control.
Surface impressions, a fleeting glance,
Yet within each heart, a nuanced dance.
Skin-deep evaluations, a superficial gaze,
Obstructing the essence, lost in a judgmental haze.
Faces worn like masks, concealing the true,
A story untold, a depth we misconstrue.
For in the canvas of diversity, a vibrant palette unfolds,
A symphony of stories, in every person, it molds.
Yet, too often, we linger on the surface, so blind,
To the tales that within each beating heart, we may find.
Appearances deceive, illusions they create,
A misjudgment that closes the door, seals a fate.
Peering through the lens of preconceived notions,
We miss the beauty, the varied emotions.
Let not the book be judged by its cover,
For within its pages, countless stories to discover.
A gentle reminder, to look beyond the seen,
To embrace the kaleidoscope of humanity, serene.
In the tapestry of life, let compassion be our guide,
Shattering the judgments, letting empathy reside.
For within the realm of souls, diversity thrives,
And the heart, beyond appearances, truly survives.
