Old Friend
Keifer's POV
I had to leave early at Uncle Kier's house because of the distance and duration of the trip. Keigan and I talked early so I had to get ready right away. "Next time, bring your brothers here." Uncle Kier said. "I will. Thank you for letting me stay Uncle." I said and got inside the car. The whole night wasn't enough for the two of us to talk. A lot happened to their seven siblings but the one about my grandfather was the one that really amazed me. He didn't even get married when his girlfriend left him but he was almost crazy about ruining the lives of people who were away from them. One true Watson beast. He also said a lot that would help me control the attitude of a Watson. I just wish I could do it at the right time. I fell asleep on my own during the trip and only woke up when the car stopped at the hotel. I quickly entered and went to our suite. Keigan was eating breakfast when I came in. "How's your night with Uncle?" He asked before shoving the food in his mouth. "Not so bad. He gave me advices that could help me in the future." He nodded shortly. "You should eat. We're going somewhere." "Where?" "Not too far from here." He said he was going to introduce someone to me. A woman that I met before. I turned away from her and went straight to my room. I went into the bathroom to take a shower. Under the pouring water I close my eyes and look up. I want to hear Jay-jay's voice. I miss her so much it makes me loose my mind. I want to go back to hug her. I really want to kiss her. After what I heard from Uncle Kier, I start to have hopes for us. But I need to hold on, for her, for me and for us. They need me, for the people who are counting on me. I turn off the shower and dried myself using the towel. I went straight to the walking closet. While I was getting dressed I heard my secret phone ringing. I hurried because Keigan might hear it. I 'm about to look for my phone but someone holds it for me. The screen is facing me and I intentionally show the caller. Yuri's number. I looked at the person holding my phone. I'm a bit surprised to see him here. He's holding his own cellphone pressed to his ear. "Do you want me to answer your call on my phone?" I sarcastically ask. He smirks before putting down my phone and ending the call from his phone. "I just want to know something." He said and shoved his phone on his pocket. I took out my secret phone and put it away. "What brings you here in London?" Yuri crosses his arms. "You." I chuckled. "Miss me?" "In your dreams." He sighs. "Is that you?" I turn my back on him and walk back to my closet. I continue getting dressed what I'm doing earlier. "You did that to Mykel, am I right?" He asked almost shouting. "Lower your voice. Keigan might hear you." "Just answer me." He said sounds pissed. He obviously didn't visit me to say hello. "Yes, I did that to Mykel." "Angelo is angry because you beat him to it." I came out of the closet while putting on my tie. He was still standing in the same position. "He's slow." I looked at him after he ï¬nished getting dressed. "Is that all?" "What's with you and your textmate game?" He raised a brow. "Crazy." Damn that name. Jay's really good at naming names. I seriously look at him. No more games and no more jokes. "I don't want to lose my connection with Jay." "So you pretend to be someone? How childish." We couldn't separate our gazes. We were measuring who would be stronger and last longer. "I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do here. All I asked for was to talk to Jay-jay, and now you want to cut it." "Because you have to. Forget about him. Jay-jay will suffer more because of you." I chuckled bitterly. "Look who's talking. Who set up the engagement so everyone was so upset? You made a plan that I didn't tell you." "I'm just saving him from you." "Saving him or making sure. Afraid to lose again?" He smirks. "I never lose Keifer. They loved me when they were with you." My ï¬st clenched. I badly want to punch his face to shut his mouth. But I know better. "But I loved Jay-jay when you were choking him in that engagement." I said and his smirks immediately gone. "Do you think I'm doing this to win you over?" I shook my head. "No. Because whatever you do, you'll never win rom me." I walk and slightly bump his shoulder. It was probably Keigan or Honey who let him in here. They probably showed me my room too. I hadn't even gotten close to the door when Yuri called me. "It's better if you just stay here. You won't be coming back." He walks closer to me. "I'll make sure you don't have Jay-jay to come back to." I smirked at him. "Like you really can." I turned my back on him and left the room. I was going to look for Keigan but I saw him walking closer to me. "Did youâ€"?" "Did you let Yuri in?" I ask with authority. He blinks twice before nodding slowly. "H-he's visiting you for some important matters. That's what he said." "Whatever. Let's go." I saw Honey standing at the door. She's wearing her regular outï¬t which makes me raise a brow. "I'm not coming." She said after seeing my questionable look. "I'll accompany your friend here." "You won't be able to sit down. He's not like Percy." I said and walked passed by her. Keigan followed me, quiet and not even looking at me . He occasionally bowed and held his neck. We were already in the car but he was still like that. He briefly mentioned the place but then he fell silent again. I'm starting to feel bothered. The longer the trip, the more strange he became. "Keigan, areâ€"?" "I'm okay." He cut me off. He removes his eye glasses and holds the bridge of his nose. He even sighs multiple times. I stared at him and about to touch his shoulder when I saw him slightly smirked. It immediately gone and he rested the back of his head. He turned his glasses around and looked at me for a moment. I notice the difference in his eyes from earlier. But I can't conï¬rm because I only saw him for a moment. "Just a headache but I'm alright now." He said before looking outside the window. I didn't take my eyes off him. Dissociative Identity Disorder I'm not gonna close my eyes again on this matter. I know my brother needs some help. He's not normal and that's the painful truth. "Where here Sir." The driver announced. I stared at the houseâ€"it would be more accurate to say a mansion on top of a hill. The road wound around the hill up to the top. "Whose mansion is this?" I asked. "You'll know." Keigan answered. The large gate opened and a wide lawn appeared before me. The house was a long way from the gate. The ï¬rst thing I noticed was the large fountain in front of the house. We stopped in front of the entrance door. Keigan was the ï¬rst to get out before me. A woman in a maid outï¬t greeted us. "Good morning Sir, this way please." She said and moved her hand for us to follow her. My eyebrows raised. Why do I feel weird? Like something big is about to happen. I grabbed the collar of my dress. I'm having trouble breathing. Keigan was ahead of us. I just followed while looking straight ahead. I don't even have time to look around. We reached the second floor and the maid took us to the terrace. "She'll be here in a moment." The maid said and left us. The ï¬rst thing I noticed was a coffee table surrounded by benches . The rails are covered with crawling plants. "Who exactly are meeting here?" "Someone fromâ€"." "Keifer!" It was a woman's voice who stopped Keigan. My brother and I turned around together. She's walking toward us with a wide smile. My forehead slowly creased while mouth gaped open when I realized who she was. "Oh my god Keifer!" She said and hugged me. I didn't respond nor hug him back. I was in shock. After a long time, this is the only time I've seen her up close. She pulled away from me and smiled at me. "Look at you! You're taller than me now!" She checked every inch of my face. "Good morning Sister, sorry we're late." Keigan said and she turned to him. "It's okay, at least you made it." She said with all smiles and face me again. "Why aren't you saying anything? You're not happy to see me?" I'm trying to ï¬nd the right word to say to her. But I'm lost. "Is your tongue bitten by a cat?" She asked playfully. "Y-youâ€"how?" I gulp. "Ion." Her smile is lessened but manages to keep it. "I think it's better if you call me Ate, you're still disrespectful." I'm confused as fvck. I have so many things to ask but I don't know where to start. When Angelo ï¬nds out that I'm facing him now, he'll deï¬nitely loose his mind. He said some things that I didn't understand. I just felt him pulling me and forcing me to sit in front of the coffee table. She's still smiling and giggling while talking to Keigan. The same maid earlier brought some sweets and tea for us. "Come on Keifer. Say a thing. Don't move there." She mocks me. I manage to compose a question. "H-how the fvck did you know each other?" Ion giggled before putting down her tea cup. "I thought he was you, then I remembered, you have a younger brother." "He is familiar to me so I entertained him then I found out that you know each other." Keigan explained. I don't remember introducing any woman to Keigan aside from Jay-jay. So how on earth did he get familiar with Ion. Whatever it is, it doesn't eel right. My instinct is telling me something. "So how's life been? I heard you and your friends had an accident about three or four years ago." She asked. I nodded briefly. "And because of that we're no longer friends. Only Yuri and I left." I saw sadness in her eyes. "You mean, Aries and Percy are no longer your friends?" I shrugged my shoulders. "Kindly explain where have you been this past few years. Is this your house by the way?" She behind us to check the house. "No, this belongs to my friend. He just let me stay." "Huh?" I raised a brow. "If Angelo ï¬nds outâ€"." "Please. Let's not talk about him." She cut me. She can't look me in my eyes. He was obviously not comfortable hearing his name either. I want to laugh at his expectations. She's the one who left yet she has the audacity to avoid the topic about Angelo. "So what do you want to talk about?" My voice starts to raise. Keigan noticed it and cleared his throat to warn me. But fvck this, I hate the way she acts like nothing happened. Like she never lets go and leaves everything hanging. "Maybe we should talk about how great your life is now that you made it without him." I said sarcastically. It was obvious that she wasn't expecting what I was going to say. She even looked at Keigan to ask for help. "Brotherâ€"." "No. I would like to here what she's about to say." I saw her shoulders slowly rise. She remained looking at Keigan as if she's waiting for a signal. "Keifer, pleaseâ€"." "What?" I sounded pissed. I don't like being here. I have no clue why we're here. And that only makes me more annoyed. Ion stood up and calmly faced us. "I'm sorry Keigan, but I don't think this is the right time to talk about the marriageâ€"." "What marriage?!" I almost shouted. It was obvious that they were both shocked. I could see Keigan's panic. He didn't know which of us he was going to talk to ï¬rst. "Ate, Iiâ€"Kuya thisâ€"." "WHAT MARRIAGE?!" I badly want to punch anything. My ï¬sts are clenching that I can here my own bones. "He still doesn't know?" It was Ion. "Ii thoughtâ€"I'm sorry Keigan." "Answer my question." I command forcing myself to calm. The two of them looked at each other and seemed to be waiting for someone to tell me the truth. Ion sat up again and faced me. "Keifer, the thing is... Keigan and I talk about this yesterday." She bit her lips and looked at Keigan before continuing talking. "We talk about, you...and...Iâ€"." My hands moved spontaneously and threw the coffee table. The saucers and tea cups broke. Ion quickly stood up and walked away while holding his mouth. While Keigan stood up and stepped back. My breathing was heavy. I'm in range and close enough to hurt my own brother. "How dare you." It sounded like a whisper. "Oh my god." Ion said while looking so scared at me. "Listen, we have to this. I'm just ahead of the Elders in their plan. They're planning the same thing for you." "How dare you." I glared at him deadly. "How dare you!" "Brother." I can't believe he can do this to me. I trusted him because he's smart and I knew he wouldn't let me down. "Get away from me. I'll hurt you Keigan." Ion walks closer to me. She tried to touch me but I move away. "Listen Keifer. We both think that this is the right thing to do." I chuckled bitterly. "For what? This is fvck up!" I turned my back on him to leave but two people standing there staring at me stopped my plan. They only just showed up. "An engagement? Uncle doesn't know anything about this." Honey said and looked at Ion. "I think your too old to hit Keifer." "I'm not hitting him." Ion said casually. But I'm not interested in them. I kept looking at Honey's companion as a smile slowly formed on her lips. Fvck. "You're doom Keifer. Of all women, Ion is still really good." Yuri said and smirked. "Don't make a mistake." "I am shutting my mouth. Because you are the one who will tell them that. Especially to Angelo and Jay-jay." My ï¬st clenched and about to punch him but Honey immediately blocked it. "That's later! We called Keigan earlier but he didn't answer. Maybe you should by a new phone." "What is it?" Keigan said. "Your Uncle Kier was rushed to the hospital." Things went black after hearing those words from Honey. I walked straight out, I could still hear them calling my name but my body has it's own mind. I got outside and immediately signaled the driver of the car. "S-sir?" "Hand me the car key." He hesitated at ï¬rst but he still handed me what I asked for. I took it and immediately got on the car. I saw Keigan, Honey, Ion and Yuri running out of the house but I already drove away before they can reach me. Please, no. Not another one from my family.
