Jay-jay's POV

I didn't get any answers from Mama. As long as she could, she would avoid my questions
related to Papa. Until I got fed up and kept quiet. I went home still not knowing anything clear about her and
Papa. I still didn't get any answers to Kuya's questions. Maybe he thought that Yuri and I were just dating. I
was going to ask Aunt Gema questions but since we got home from the hospital, she has been sparing her
words with me. There were times when I felt like she was avoiding me. It crossed my mind that maybe she
was upset because I told the Doctor about my situation regarding Mama and Papa. "Auntie..." I called her in
the morning before I left for school. She looked at me and smiled. "Be careful, Jay." She was about to send me
away. "S-sige po." I smiled hesitantly and slowly turned around. I walked out and headed straight to Aries' car.
She was already inside and was obviously waiting for me. "Slow down." She whispered to me. I didn't speak or
answer yet. I wasn't at school yet but I felt like my body was so tired. Plus, my mind felt like it was empty
again. There were things I really wanted to know the answer to but I couldn't talk to anyone properly. Like the
question 'which is tastier? Chicken or liempo?'. Who should I talk to about that matter? I can't ask the Ulopong
because they only do greed . What I need is someone with taste. "You didn't get anything, did you?" Aries
asked, bringing me back to my senses. "You don't want to answer. You still seem bitter about Papa." He
laughed a little. "What's that? A teenager? Still has feelings?" I laughed too. "Maybe." Our soft laughter turned
into loud laughter. What we were saying was vague, because first Mama was getting married and then Papa
was already quiet about his original wife. So it was still unclear in the floodwaters that they still had feelings
or each other. But what if they did? The car stopped for a moment because of the stop light. But our eyes
were still moving and followed the person crossing the road right in front of us. "Is that Andy?" Aries asked
while still following the man. I stared at him closely. "That's Andy, the apple!" How shameless! Mama hasn't
even gotten them married yet, and here's a college girl walking with her while crossing the road. "Follow me!" I
shouted at Aries. "What for?! Let her go!" I glared at her. "What let her go? You're a fool! Your future step Daddy
is about to become a woman!" She looked at me with disgust. "Don't get me started. Just your stepfather."
She started the car and continued on the road to school. I had nothing else to do but watch the beast that
would be Mama's next husband. Just that! I said I had a bad feeling. She needed to know the truth about her
fiancé, Epal. I took my cellphone and immediately sent her a text message. I just hoped she would believe me.
I should have taken a picture so I had evidence. We arrived at school. I quickly got out of the car when I saw
Yuri's car just parked. I immediately approached her. "Bulaga!" She was surprised but she didn't react. "Oh, she
wasn't surprised." "Do you want to be surprised? Wait." He said and adjusted the bag and suddenly acted
surprised. "Shit! I'm surprised! Why are you surprised?" I winced. "I don't want you as a friend anymore." I was
about to leave when he grabbed my arm. "You don't want to be my friend anymore? Do you want me to be your
girlfriend?" He asked and raised his eyebrows. I blinked at what he said. "You didn't have breakfast, did you?"
He nodded. "How did you know?" "Because your breath stinks." I replied and quickly turned away from him.
"Oh, no." He said while following me. He must have tried to smell his own breath.I just laughed at him and
quickly walked up the stairs. It was like I was regretting moving to this new room now. Climbing the stairs was
tiring. So when we got to the room, I was out of breath. I get tired quickly and because I get tired quickly, I also
get hungry quickly. I ended up eating more than before. Maybe I'd lost weight. When I entered the room, as
usual they were making a fuss. They were chatting, teasing and sleeping together. "You bastards! Go online in
the group chat!" Edrix said annoyed. I looked at him in surprise. He seemed very busy with his cellphone and
seemed to be arguing. He almost cut off the person he was talking to. I put my bag down on my table and
was about to pick up my cellphone when I noticed Ci-N. He was so upset and it felt like the sky had fallen on
him...like the ground. His arms were still crossed in front of his chest as if he was whispering something.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked him.
He looked at me for a moment and then followed it with a sharp sneer while
smirking.

I sat down in my seat and simply hugged him. "What's your problem?"
"Nothing." He answered annoyed.
I couldn't help but think. He was acting strangely, as if
I had done something wrong.
I thought about talking to David. He was sleeping again with his head in
his headset. What does he do every night and seems to be always
up late? It used to be because of his girlfriend he was video calling but now
I don't hear anything about their relationship. That girl is no longer the
wallpaper on his cellphone.
Have they broken up?
I simply hugged him. He hadn't woken up yet so
I kept repeating until he got up and removed the headset from
his ears.
"Good morning." He greeted before stretching.
"Good morning too. Sorry for the inconvenience. I was going to ask something."
"Fire." He answered, which surprised me.
"Huh? What Fire?"
"Shoot."
"Huh?!" I asked a little annoyed.
He scratched his head. "I mean, ask what
you're going to ask."
"Why do you even know Fire and Shoot?"
"It's an expression or a different word for go."
I just nodded. I knew a lot, I was embarrassed to only
know about food.
"I'm just going to ask what's going on with Ci-N? The anger is so intense
." I asked while pointing at Batang Kumag.
He simply glanced at what I pointed at. He laughed softly while
shaking his head. While I was starting to worry.
"He's sulking at you." He replied with a smile. "You said you didn't
take him with you yesterday."
It took me a while to move on.
I pouted as I slowly turned to look at Ci.
His frown was still intense with a sneer.
I almost got scared because I might have done something wrong that
I didn't know about. It turned out that he was just sulking because we didn't take him with us.
He probably thought we were on a date that's why he was so sulky.
He gets upset easily when food is involved.
"Hey." I called out to him but he only answered me with a frown.
"I'll treat you later. On Hepa Avenue."
His face suddenly lit up. He quickly turned to face me
while smiling. His eyes were barely bright with
joy. They were already sparkling.
"You said that, huh? Maybe you'll leave me again later?"
His tone was filled with a hint of threat.
I shook my head. "I did invite you, didn't I?"
He even clapped his hands in joy. "Let's go on a date! I'll tell
Ereâ€"."
I immediately covered his mouth. "Don't.make.a mistake."
He blinked before slowly nodding. I glared at him
to make sure he got what I wanted to convey.
By the time these Ulopongs found out about my invitation and treat. My
pockets were empty and my savings were gone. An entire barangay would lose
to their greed. The food stores would surely get rich
when these scumbags became customers.

Ci nodded again before I completely let go of his mouth.
We both adjusted our seats.
I thought I could be quiet but Batang Kumag tricked me.
He suddenly stood up and ran to the front. He still had
both hands on either side of his mouth.
I tried to chase him and stop him but things happened so fast
that it was only a second before my hand reached him.
Everything felt like slow motion as I heard him shouting.
"ManlilibreSiJay-jaySaHepaAvenue!" He
shouted quickly and loudly.
I barely understood what he shouted but it seemed so
clear to his fellow Ulopongs.
There was a tsunami as they all came towards me. With the speed and force of
these croaks, I almost fell over and rolled on the floor. It was good
that I was able to hold on to the table right away.
"If you really insist, we'll come with you!"

"You're really a good person!"
They even spat saliva in my face. I wanted to thank them for the free
acial because acid is bad for the skin.
"I'm not a freebie!" I clarified, stopping them.
Their shoulders slumped in unison. "And I'm not inviting you." I added, and their faces
looked like they had lost a bet . I thought they would leave and accept the truth that they were just scumbags .
But they stayed in front of me. "You can't go later if we're not with you." Felix said. "Why?" "Maybe you're
orgetting that someone tried to take our lives. What if it happens again?" The fools quickly agreed. The
shameless ones were about to grow horns and turn into cows while nodding. "But you can't come with me!
There are more of us! We're all so visible!" I insisted. The fools were ready to argue. Each had their own
reasons just to be with them. They thought I really had a freebie. These guys are really Cobras. "No! You
should come with us so we can defend you!" Eren insisted. The bastard is clearly starving. You thought his
women weren't feeding him. I guess whenever he goes on a date, his girlfriends pay because this idiot can't
afford it. "What are you fighting against bullets?!" My eyes and nostrils widened at them. "This Eman is

are crossbreeds, Ulopong cows. A rear species that is only found here in the Philippines. "You idiots! What are
you fighting for?!" I almost got angry. "On Hepa Avenue! It can't be just the two of you!" Rory replied like a
politician arguing. I slapped him so hard that he backed away. "Not the two of us! Yuri and David are with us!"
They immediately looked at Yuri. The fool obviously didn't know because he pointed at himself. I was trying to
talk to him so that he would just nod so that these fools would be quiet. He seemed to get what I wanted to
convey. He nodded slowly to confirm to these Ulopong what I was saying. We then looked at David who was
quickly wrapped in Denzel's arms. Due to his drowsiness, he almost didn't notice what was being done to him.

him. "You're the godfather of my future son." David pulled his hand away. He was about to go back to poking
when Ci-N suddenly pounced on him. They fell straight to the floor. His drowsiness disappeared as he swung
his arm and elbow hit my table. "What the fvck?!" He said angrily. "You'll come later!" Ci shouted at him. He
glared at the Kid Kumag. He was clearly annoyed by what the other one did. "David." I grabbed his attention.
He calmly faced me. He was still clearly angry about what had been done to him but tried to calm himself
down. "Come with me to Hepa Avenue later." I said. He simply nodded before standing up and arranging his
chair and table . The Ulopongs became quiet because they knew he was no longer in the mood to joke
around. After arranging the things. He pecked again to sleep. A signal for these little guys to return to their
nagging. "We should be together!" "I thought we were friends!" "We should be friends together, forever!" I just
winced at what they were saying. Now they were starting to become friends. That's a free gift! They might
even take the air I breathe. "It's up to you! As long as I don't give you anything free!" I said annoyed. Their
shoulders almost fell at the same time. There was nothing I could do if they really didn't want to be weaned.

did the funds he was talking about come from? I wanted to be happy because I can't afford to be free
anymore, but I couldn't. I even saw Ci-N dancing like a worm. I felt different from the one Rory called. Who was
he? And why was he so quick to agree to fund these starving people. He was probably going to make money
because the barangay equivalent of these was going to be paid. I looked at Yuri who was also looking at me.
He tried to smile at me which I returned. Is it him? I just chose not to understand where the funds came from.
As long as it wasn't from the public treasury and there was nothing in return that they would harm, it was fine .
I just sat in my seat but my ass wasn't even hot enough when Edrix cursed one after another and forced us all
to open our group chat. I just took my phone and did as he ordered. Messages came in one after another that
