Chapter-362

Neighbors

Jay-Jay's POV

I just want to know. Why does a car horn have to be so loud ? Why does it have to be so loud
that people can't hear what you're saying ? And why does a car horn honk? We're already inside the school.
There's no need to honk. It's just a horn. "Sorry, I didn't hear you." It was obvious. "Let's go..." I winced. "Let's go
to the classroom or we'll be late," I said before unbuckling my seatbelt and opening the car door. He
immediately followed me. I was shaking my head as I looked at the parked cars. I just wanted to know who
honked that horn, his car window was broken. I guess he wanted to deafen us. If he honked his horn all the
way, while we weren't blocking the road. He didn't hear me. I lost the will to tell him. Maybe next time . Maybe
it wasn't really time for us to be together. "Have you had breakfast yet?" Hari asked and I stopped shaking my
head. "Just a little. I'm so sick of Kuya and Honey, I've lost my appetite." I replied and he pointed the way to the
cafeteria. I willingly followed. I told him what I witnessed at the door of Kuya's unit and how I reacted. I guess I
got all my resentment out of telling him the story. "Honey is pretty, but I don't really see them as a couple," I
said and my shoulders rose slightly in horror. He laughed a little. "No, they're not dating." I looked at him for a
moment before entering the cafeteria. "How did you say that?" "Your cousin doesn't take relationships
seriously. He has someone else's love," he explained. Kuya? Does he have a love? Kuya doesn't seem to have a
crush on a girl. I don't even remember him saying anything nice or showing interest in her. That's why I was so
surprised by Honey and her. "Who?" He just shrugged at me before pointing to the menu in front of us. Since it
was still early, the vendors had almost finished setting up. I only ordered a tapsilog because we might be late
or class if I ordered more. He also bought his breakfast and our drinks. I immediately looked for a place to sit
while he held the food tray. "Here. Here we go," I said, pointing to the table near the exit. He followed me. He
arranged the food on the table and I stared at what he was doing for a moment. If only he would take care of
me. He paid for it, he brought it, and he set the table. Don't make me do that. "You know, you're teaching me to
be lazy," I said and watched him sit down next to me. "What do you mean?" he asked. "You're always taking
care of me. Maybe I'll get used to it and I won't be able to act on my own." He laughed a little. "Why not? I will
always serve my Queen." I looked away as I tried to hold back my curse . Again! It's different to be excited! "Do
I look like a Queen? I'm more suitable for a knight," I replied before taking a bite of my food. "I'll still serve you,"
he smiled at me. "And fight with you." he added with a wink. I simply smiled at what he said. Shutangina! I was
already slumped over. I really couldn't get up. We continued eating and he tried to touch me from time to time
but I immediately avoided him. He would laugh at me if he knew I was about to gasp to accept his offer. We
would have finished our food in no time if he hadn't been teasing me. Gradually, more students were arriving
at the cafeteria. It looked like we were going to have breakfast here too. I checked the time on the big wall
clock in the canteen. It was still early but it would have been better if we waited in the room. "Finish it up, let's
go to the room," I said. He had finished his food just in time and only had drinks . I stood up to clean up but he
beat me to it. He also took the tray and handed it to the counter. The other students looked at him because of
his sudden walk in front. I could see the reactions of the others. Some were shocked and smiled at him, some
were amazed and of course the guys who were staring at him. But he ignored all of that. "Let's go." I nodded
and followed him out of the cafeteria. The door closed behind us just as we met Ella and Aries. He looked at
me or at us coldly. I didn't wait for his reaction. I immediately grabbed Hari's arm and pulled him away. I didn't
even look back and just kept walking until I knew we were far away from them. "Slow down. We're far away
rom them," Keifer said so I stopped pulling him. I even outran Drew in avoiding him. I caught my breath for a
moment. I panted because my steps were too slow and I also quickened my pace. "How long will you avoid
him?" Hari asked before taking a handkerchief from his pocket and wiping my forehead. "For life?" I answered
uncertainly. He shook his head. I knew that was impossible. Nowadays, all that's left is a debt. That's why I
wasn't sure of my answer either. "Give him time. I believe he will forgive you." We started climbing the stairs to
our classroom. "It's okay even if it's not. I'll accept it," I replied. "Are you really going to just avoid him?" I
nodded. "Rather than confronting him and then hurting him more and more." "Are you planning to stay with
Angelo from now on?" "Until I graduate, then I'll move to the dorm when I go to college. I'll also find a part-time
job to support myself," I explained. I was thinking about that last night. I also thought that I might never be
able to go back home. I can't live in my brother's unit. It's embarrassing to be stuck with him. So I thought that
I'll just move to the dorm when I go to college. Well, I feel like college is coming soon. I really need to get into
college. I'm not sure about the course I'm going to take yet but it's better to have a plan ready. When my class
schedule is good, I'll also find a part-time job to cover my expenses. I can't beg them anymore. I should also
pay off those who owe me to secure my savings. I had a hard time getting my savings back because of that
huge debt . "Or you can move in to my house and live with me. We can also get married as soon as you want
to." the King of Snakes said casually . I stopped walking and winced at him. It was as if getting married was as
easy for him as eating out. Just a snack? "Get it together! This is a serious matter." I replied annoyed. He
laughed a little. "What? I'm just giving you more options." "I said I'm going to study, not get married!" I scolded
him and continued walking towards the room. I passed him but I knew he would follow. The Ulopongs, who
were in a hurry and were struggling, appeared before me. Led by Batang Kumag. Eren and I have an argument
and of course Loverboy won't lose. He's so loving. "I'll report you to your girlfriendssssssss!" Ci shouted at
him. He really used the letter 's' in his word girlfriends the longest. "It's like you know them all." Eren replied
arrogantly. "That's easy. Just shout Eren's name outside and they'll come over on their own accord," Calix
pointed out and he immediately got a bad look from Eren. The people listening and watching them laughed a
little. Felix looked at us and quickly greeted me. "Good morning Jay," he grabbed the attention of the
Ulopongs. I immediately returned his greeting. The Ulopongs greeted me one after another , except for David
who looked very sleepy again. The day had just started but he was already exhausted. What the hell had he
done? I walked over to my seat and arranged my things before sitting down. The King did the same. His fellow
Ulopongs immediately approached him like employees reporting to their boss. "Jay..." Ci called me tearfully.
"You either hit Eren or curse him." "Good morning, don't put me in that," I replied and Eren quickly teased him.
They disappeared from my sight but Yuri quickly replaced them. I smiled at him but it disappeared
immediately when I noticed the wound on his lip and the scratch near his cheek. "Did it happen to your cheek
and lip?" He immediately grabbed his lips. "Someone hit me last night. I didn't see who properly." I was
overcome with worry and his answer quickly played in my mind. What if it was connected to what was
happening in his life? Maybe the person who tried to attack him the other day got back at him when he went
home. "Why? Where were you last night?" I asked and searched for a tissue in my bag that he could use. "I
accompanied Ma'am Cindy to the grocery store, I was waiting for her in the parking lot after that. I managed to
dodge but somehow it still hit me a little," he explained. I found a tissue and immediately handed it to her. She
took it and wiped her lips. She even smiled at me to tell me she was fine. You can't beat her smile. The list I
got from her still hasn't left my mind. I deny it, but I'm starting to lose trust in her because of the things she's
hiding. If only I could, I really don't want her to keep secrets from me. "I have a question to ask. About your
amnesia," he said and I nodded to signal him to continue. "Just wondering if you were in an accident when you
were a child? The accident where you hit your head or if you had a head trauma." I thought. Grandma and I
didn't say anything about me being in an accident and hitting my head. All I know is that I have a burn wound
on my back. But I can't remember who did it . "I know nothing. Why?" "Because I was doing research last night
about your case. I found something that was almost the same as yours. Except that his Selective Amnesia
only lasted 2 years. He also had frequent trigger or episode attacks. I noticed that yours lasted a long time so
maybe it wasn't just trauma," he explained and took out his phone to see what he had found. I just looked at it
or a moment but didn't read it. There was too much writing and there were a few photos. I smiled at him.
"Thank you for this. But you don't have to do that. I can also find out what my illness is." "I'm willing to help
Jay. I want to make up for what I did to you back then," he answered and smiled at me. I smiled at him too.
"Thank you." "Let me know if you remember anything that could help me with my research." "Okay. I'll tell you," I
answered and watched him leave. I met Keifer's gaze that glared at Yuri. I wanted to scold him for what he
did. But that was replaced by worry. He had no idea about the list Yuri was holding. And I had no idea what
was happening to Yuri either. I just hoped I was wrong or that Ma'am Cindy was accusing me. I adjusted my
seat and watched Ci-N and Eren fight. I just shook my head especially when their fellow Ulupongs laughed at
them. Eren was very angry at Batang Kumag and one of his was the same. They only stopped when Sir Alvin
arrived to teach. And we started. I can say that our morning class went normally. The teachers reminded us
about our last test. I was able to write a little lesson but my mind kept replaying what happened at home and
what Mama and Aries said. There was a time when I burst into tears but I quickly wiped them away. When
lunch arrived, I just went shopping at the King of Ulupongs. And it looked like she was already in a hurry to buy
ood because of the long wait. I had already gotten CR in time waiting for her. When I arrived at the rest room,
Ella's white skin appeared before me. She was washing her hands and was slightly stunned when she saw
me. I went straight to the cubicle to do what I wanted. I deliberately waited a little longer, taking the risk that
Ella would leave. But when I opened the cubicle door, she was still there and it was obvious that she was
waiting for someone. Which was probably me. I approached the sink with deadly malice to wash my hands.
She just watched me and waited for me to finish before speaking. "You're both not in good shape." she said
and I knew she was referring to me and Aries. "I just feel bad," I replied. "You're both what I told you." She took
something from her pocket. It looked like lip balm and she immediately applied it to her own lips. She even
fixed her hair and uniform. "Whatever happened between you and Aries, it's better if you talk," he said and
walked towards the door but he still managed to catch his words. "You guys look better when you talk. You
were able to say hello before, what about now." he smiled and left completely. I bowed my head. Even though I
wanted to talk to him, I think it would be better if I didn't. He would only get hurt again. The events of the night
we were kidnapped and of course, me bringing his Dad home to confront them will come back to him. It would
be better if we didn't talk anymore. I finished what I was doing and went back to the room. That's right
because the King of the Snakes had arrived. As I said, the lightning seemed to have come from Mount Tralala
again. He was sweating profusely and looked like he was chasing a monkey. I approached him and
immediately found the remaining tissue in my bag. I handed it to him and pointed at the sweat on his face.
"Wipe it off your face," I said. He smiled and returned the handkerchief. "You do it for me." I winced but did it
anyway. I wiped his face and immediately heard a faint hiss from Batang Kumag. "That's sweet," he said and
raised his cellphone to take a picture of us . "Sweet. I wish a big ant would bite me," Yuri whispered as he
handed over the food in the paper bag Keifer was carrying. "Fire ant, please," David said, who was also doing
the same. "Whatever," Hari replied annoyed to them. He handed me the food I had bought. I immediately
accepted it. "Where's mine?" Ci asked while looking at the other paper bags. "That's mine too." Felix also
bought food from Keifer. I wanted to laugh because they had taken advantage of Hari again. He didn't
complain either, so I think it was okay with him. They didn't give me any money, I think. Our lunch was fine,
except Ci would make trouble and steal food. It's a good thing I finished it before his fellow Ulopongs
returned. As usual, they asked again as if they weren't from the cafeteria to eat. The look was different. "Hey..."
David called to me while waiting for the next teacher. "Did you leave last night?" I nodded as an answer. "Yes,
why did you ask?" "I saw you last night." he answered quickly, which surprised me. How did he see me last
night? He probably didn't go home because it was so late. "Did you see me?"
"I mean, I thought I saw you." he clarified.
I nodded. I thought he really saw us face to
ace. Maybe my brother and I met on the road without me
noticing. But why is he still awake at such an hour?
"Did you go out too? It's already midnight."
"I-I'm being watched," he replied and quickly
looked away.
"Who is it?"
He shook his head and quickly went back to sleep.
I was going to tease him more but he looked so sleepy. I
just let him go so he could catch up on his sleep like he always does.
The teacher we were waiting for arrived and the class started.
Our afternoon class was peaceful. They were just strict
reminders about the upcoming exam. It seemed like I needed to train
my brain to study. It's not good to get a low grade. The
things that have been happening in my life lately have been bad and my grades are still bad
.
Don't even look like I'm ugly.
When I got home, I thought about just going with the King of
Snakes. We were only going to one place. We intentionally
delayed the others because I felt like I would meet my brother.
"Ready?" Keifer asked while I tried to look around the parking lot.
"Do you think his car is gone? Did he go home?"
"He's still dropping off his girlfriend, so maybe she's already gone."
I nodded. After all, it's not his habit to stay late
at school. Unless he has a lot to do.
We started walking down the stairs. I thought
about what he said for a moment. He didn't call Ella by name. He just said,
'his girlfriend'. What did that mean?
There was something.
"Tell me Ella," I ordered him.
Even though he was surprised, he did it anyway. "Ella."
I smiled plastically. "How does it feel to mention your ex's name?"
He was suddenly confused. "What?"
"Why did you suddenly go deaf?"
He laughed slightly. "What's going on inside your head?"
"Just answer," I ordered.
"None. Am I supposed to feel something with her name?"
"Why can't you mention her name? Is there something?"
He laughed out loud while shaking his head.
"Are we going?" he asked, making me stop.
"W-What?"
"Because you're acting like my official girlfriend," he replied while
smiling as if he was very proud of what he said.
Still an idiot.
"I don't know what to do."
I walked down quickly and almost got ahead of him near the
parking lot where his car was. What he said earlier was true,
my sister's car was gone and it looked like he had left immediately to drop off
his boyfriend.
It would be better if we didn't meet here at school. He might
just ruin his day with me. Just be patient, the school
year is almost over. I'll find a dorm to move into once I'm enrolled in
college.
Keifer opened the door of his car and let me in. I knew
he still had to pick up his siblings so I sent
Kuya a text to tell him who I was going home with and what
time I would be home. It was a good thing he didn't chase me this
morning, but I had a feeling he knew who I was going home with.
And then there was Honey.
I suddenly remembered their looks from earlier. Mygad!
My stomach felt like it wanted to turn. I knew Kuya was handsome and could attract
girls quickly but I couldn't imagine him having a crush on her.
I could imagine him throwing the girl away.
We first went to Keiren's school where he was waiting next to the
school security guard. I looked at the small box he was holding
with chocolate, candy and a heart attached to it. The kid looked like he was already drunk
. When he got into the passenger seat, I immediately looked at him.
"What's that? Where did you come from?"
"Please," he replied to me and I immediately glared at him.
"Keiren, be nice to your sister-in-law," Keifer said and
his brother and I almost screamed at the same time.
"WHAT?!"
"No. Not this girl. Eww!"
He just laughed loudly before starting the
car.
We went to Keigan's school next but when we got there,
the school guard told us that Keigan had gone home early.
He said he had picked up one of their bodyguards.
Keifer confirmed that first. He immediately called Honey to find out if that was what
his brother had done.
Keifer immediately got in the car after hanging up.
"What did you say?"
"He's in the unit," he replied and I could feel his breathing
ease.
He also seemed nervous about his brother suddenly leaving
school. I think I would feel the same way. If someone were
to try to kill me, especially them. The threat to
them was even greater.
Our trip home was quick. When I got to the elevator, I couldn't
help but look at our reflection in the metal door. We
looked like family, let alone the school uniforms
we were wearing.
Shut up! Why did I think that?
My thoughts were interrupted when the elevator door opened.
I said goodbye to them and thanked them. Keifer waited for me
to enter before he went to his unit.
It was a good thing I remembered Kuya's door password.
The door lock has a keypad and also has fingerprint recognition but
of course I don't have access to it yet. I'm just a password away. Isn't
wealth? Poverty has already slammed the door.
"Kuya! I'm here! Are you here?" I said as I entered the door.
My question was answered when I saw him standing next to
his beloved sofa. But he wasn't alone. Tiger was with him,
holding a glass of wine, and the doctor they brought me.
"Jay, do you remember Dr. Claudia Peralta?"
