Jin-Won slowly opened his eyes, feeling a cool breeze against his face. There was no darkness, no screams, no battles. Just the quiet sound of flowing water nearby and the fresh scent of damp earth after the rain.
He sat up slowly, looking around. They were in a village.
Small wooden houses were neatly arranged, with vast farmland stretching into the distance. People moved about the streets, laughing and talking. The village seemed untouched by time, a place where peace still thrived.
"Where… are we?" Hori mumbled as he stood next to Jin-Won, rubbing his head as if trying to process everything.
Si-Yeon looked around, her eyes shimmering with astonishment. "I can't believe it… We're in Rahman."
Jin-Won turned to her. "Rahman?"
She nodded. "I've heard of it before… It's an isolated village, hidden from the rest of the world. They say it's a place where those seeking refuge come to escape conflict and live in peace."
An elderly man approached them, his face lined with age, but his eyes filled with warmth. He wore simple robes and carried a wooden staff.
"You've finally awakened," he said gently.
Jin-Won eyed him cautiously. "Who are you?"
The old man smiled. "My name is Elder Dan, and I am the leader of this village." He gestured around. "You are in Rahman, a place that shelters those who have lost their way."
Si-Yeon clutched Jin-Won's sleeve slightly, as if trying to confirm this wasn't a dream.
"You are safe here," Elder Dan continued. "We found you unconscious at the edge of the forest and brought you here."
Hori looked around curiously. "If this is such a peaceful village, why has no one heard of it?"
Elder Dan chuckled softly. "Because it remains hidden from the outside world. Only those who truly need it can find it."
Something about his words felt strange to Jin-Won, but he couldn't deny the sense of relief washing over him. For the first time in a long while, there was no fighting… no fear.
"Stay here for a while," Elder Dan said kindly. "Regain your strength, and then you may decide what to do next."
Jin-Won looked at his companions before nodding.
"Alright… We'll stay."
