Chapter 6: A Woman's Schemes and a Man's Indifference
The soft glow of the bar lights flickered against the rim of Ye Tian's glass as he swirled his drink. The woman before him had an air of confidence, the kind that came from knowing she could turn heads with a single glance.
"You know my name," Ye Tian said, setting his drink down. "But I don't know yours."
She chuckled, resting her chin on her palm. "I'm Lin Ruoyan. A simple businesswoman."
Ye Tian smirked. "A businesswoman who approaches a man like me in a place like this? I doubt you're here for small talk."
Lin Ruoyan's eyes twinkled with amusement. "You're sharp. I like that."
She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a husky whisper. "I've been keeping an eye on you. You've changed. A lot."
Ye Tian remained calm, his expression unreadable. "And? What do you want?"
She traced the rim of her glass. "I appreciate men who rise from nothing. And I like to... invest in them."
An 'investment', huh? Ye Tian inwardly sneered. This woman was testing the waters.
In his past life, women like her had approached him too—always smiling, always seductive, always carrying hidden daggers behind their backs.
But unlike before, this time he knew how to play the game.
He reached forward, gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Lin Ruoyan's breath hitched, caught off guard by his sudden boldness.
"Investment... or something else?" Ye Tian's voice was low, smooth, filled with an almost predatory amusement.
For the first time, Lin Ruoyan hesitated.
"You—"
She was about to speak, but Ye Tian had already stood up.
"I don't need investments. And I don't need women who see me as a piece on their chessboard." He downed the last of his drink and set the glass aside. "If you want to be with me, Lin Ruoyan, then prove it. Otherwise…"
He leaned in close, his breath ghosting against her ear.
"Find another fool."
Leaving her stunned, Ye Tian walked out of the bar.

Meanwhile – Su Qingyue's Restless Night
Su Qingyue tossed and turned in bed, her mind replaying Ye Tian's cold dismissal from earlier.
"Turns out, you're not even worth my hatred."
His words had pierced deeper than she wanted to admit.
How could he just ignore me?
In the past, Ye Tian had worshipped her, begging for even a scrap of her attention. But now…
Now, he acted as if she was nothing.
She grabbed her phone, scrolling through social media, only to see something that made her stomach drop.
A photo of Ye Tian at the bar—with Lin Ruoyan.
And the caption?
"A new rising star catches the eye of a goddess."
Su Qingyue's grip on her phone tightened.
No. This wasn't right. Ye Tian was supposed to be beneath her. Not standing beside powerful women. Not becoming someone untouchable.
She bit her lip, her heart pounding.
For the first time in her life…
She felt regret.

The Next Day – The Campus Awakens
Ye Tian arrived at the university with a new air of dominance.
The students who had once ridiculed him now whispered in awe.
"He really changed..."
"Did you see the news? Lin Ruoyan was with him last night!"
"Damn, from a loser to a rising star overnight?"
Ye Tian ignored the chatter, walking confidently toward his class—until a familiar voice stopped him.
"Ye Tian!"
He turned.
Standing there, looking almost hesitant, was Su Qingyue.
"We need to talk."
Ye Tian smirked. "Talk? Since when did you want to talk to me?"
Su Qingyue bit her lip. "I... I was wrong about you."
Ye Tian raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
She took a deep breath, stepping closer. "Can we start over?"
For a moment, there was silence. Then—
Ye Tian chuckled.
Not a warm chuckle. Not a happy one.
But one filled with mockery.
"Start over?" He tilted his head. "Su Qingyue, do you take me for a fool?"
Su Qingyue's eyes widened. "I-I didn't mean—"
Ye Tian's voice turned sharp. "When I begged for your love, you humiliated me. When I needed kindness, you gave me mockery. And now, when I no longer care about you, you suddenly want me back?"
He leaned in slightly, his gaze piercing.
"No thanks. I'm not interested in leftovers."
Su Qingyue's face burned with shame.
The students around them gasped, murmuring among themselves.
"Damn, he really just said that..."
"She deserves it, after the way she treated him."
Su Qingyue felt like the world was closing in on her. She had been discarded—just like that.
And there was nothing she could do about it.

Later That Night – A New Encounter
Ye Tian walked through the city streets, feeling the cold night breeze against his skin.
He had changed his fate. This life would be different.
Just as he was about to return home, a soft voice called out.
"Excuse me..."
Ye Tian turned, only to see a gorgeous woman with silver hair and deep blue eyes standing under a streetlight.
"Are you Ye Tian?"
Ye Tian narrowed his eyes. "Who's asking?"
The woman smiled mysteriously. "I've been looking for you."
And with those words, the game of fate took another turn.
