Chapter 5: A Taste of Power
Su Qingyue's hands trembled as she stared at her phone screen. The words "Corporate Collapse Imminent" burned into her mind like a nightmare she couldn't wake up from.
"T-this has to be a mistake..." she whispered, her face turning pale.
Her friends, who had been laughing moments ago, noticed her expression.
"Qingyue? What's wrong?" one of them asked, leaning closer.
Su Qingyue swallowed hard before forcing a smile. "Nothing. Just some business trouble with the Xiang family. It's probably nothing serious."
She put down her phone and took a sip of her coffee, but the bitterness in her mouth had nothing to do with the drink. Deep inside, an uneasy feeling gnawed at her.
Could this... have something to do with Ye Tian?
---
At Ye Tian's Apartment
Ye Tian stood shirtless in front of a mirror, his chiseled body reflecting the results of his 500 years of cultivation experience. His once frail and pathetic frame had transformed into the physique of a divine warrior, exuding strength with every movement.
He clenched his fist, feeling the raw power coursing through his veins. His cultivation was still in its early stages in this life, but compared to the ants around him, he was already unstoppable.
"The first step is complete," he muttered, smirking.
Taking down Xiang Wei was nothing. It was merely an appetizer before the real feast.
His next target?
Su Qingyue.
Not for revenge—she wasn't worth that much effort.
But she had ridiculed him, humiliated him, and thrown him away like trash in his past life. He wouldn't let her do the same in this one.
She had no place in his future.

At the University
Ye Tian walked through the bustling university campus, his presence drawing the attention of many.
Girls whispered among themselves, sneaking glances at him.
"Is that really Ye Tian? He looks... so different."
"No way, right? He used to be such a loser!"
"But look at him now... so tall, so confident... he's even kind of... hot?"
Ye Tian ignored them. He had no interest in their sudden change of heart.
Instead, his eyes were fixed on a single figure standing near the entrance of the lecture hall—Su Qingyue.
She was talking to some friends, still putting on the same arrogant, untouchable attitude.
But when she turned and saw him, her body stiffened.
For a brief moment, she couldn't recognize him. The Ye Tian she knew was gone.
This man before her was something else entirely.
Something dangerous.
"Su Qingyue," Ye Tian called out, his voice calm yet filled with undeniable dominance.
Her friends turned to look at him, shocked that someone had dared to call her so casually.
Su Qingyue frowned. "What do you want?" she asked, crossing her arms.
Ye Tian smirked. "Nothing. Just wanted to see the woman who threw me away. Thought I'd feel something. But..." He shook his head, chuckling. "Turns out, you're not even worth my hatred."
Su Qingyue's face flushed with embarrassment.
"You—!" she started, but Ye Tian was already walking away, completely ignoring her existence.
For the first time in her life, Su Qingyue felt what it was like to be discarded.
And it burned.

Later That Night – A New Beauty Appears
Ye Tian sat in a high-end bar, casually drinking a glass of wine.
Just as he was about to leave, a stunning woman in a tight red dress approached him. She had long, silky black hair, captivating eyes, and a body that could ruin nations.
"I couldn't help but notice you," she purred, sitting beside him. "You're different from the usual men around here."
Ye Tian smirked, taking a sip of his drink. "Oh? And what makes you say that?"
She leaned in closer, her lips curling into a seductive smile. "I have an eye for... special men. And you, Ye Tian, are very special."
Ye Tian raised an eyebrow. She knows my name?
Interesting.
Perhaps the real game was about to begin.
