Chapter 10

After that day when we cleared things up, Celeste truly never bothered me again.

The next time I saw Levi was half a year later, at a business partner's wedding.

He looked somewhat haggard, staring at me without moving.

His eyes were filled with intense longing.

"Cassandra, it's been six months. I've missed you so much..."

He took a deep breath, fixing his gaze on me, each word that tumbled out seemed particularly obscure:

"Seeing them like this reminds me of when we got married. Back then, you—"

I coldly interrupted him,

"Let's not talk about the past anymore. It's pointless."

"Cassandra."

Levi's voice was indescribably hoarse,

"You used to say I didn't understand my own feelings, so I waited six months before coming to find you."

"In these six months, I haven't seen Celeste once. All I've thought about, all I've longed for, is you."

"I'm absolutely certain now. I love you."

His voice suddenly choked up, "Cassandra, can you give me one more chance, please?"
