The fire consumed half the city. Vivienne messaged me to pick her up from the airport and bring her home.
Risking my life, I made it halfway through the blaze when she called:
"Never mind, I'll be staying at Xavion's place for a while."
I gripped my phone tightly, but ultimately replied "Okay."
Less than two minutes after hanging up, Vivienne's junior posted a video on social media.
In it, Vivienne's cheeks were flushed red, her eyes crinkled with laughter as she leaned into his embrace.
Outside the window, dazzling fireworks lit up the sky.
The caption read: "After the world ends, will it still be you? @Vivienne"
I casually liked the post, but Vivienne suddenly called to demand what I meant by liking it.
I coolly replied: "It means goodbye."

She picked up her phone, about to make a call, when a booming voice came from behind:


"I want to see just how you're going to burst Zoran's bubble!"


The teacher immediately stood up, deliberately shouting loudly: "Director Wellington, you've finally arrived!"


Before anyone could react, Xavion snorted derisively, looking at me with disdain:


"Brother Zoran, where did you find this actress?"


"You think you're United Airlines' top pilot or something? Like firing you would be cutting an artery?"


Vivienne breathed a sigh of relief, furrowing her brow as she turned:


"I want to see who Zoran has hired to act alongside him this time."


But when she saw who had arrived, she was dumbfounded.


Her face instantly turned pale, her voice trembling as she spoke:


"D-Director, Director Wellington? Is it really you?"


"There must be some mistake, right? Someone of your status... how could you be so... polite to Zoran?"
