The fire consumed half the city. Vivienne messaged me to pick her up from the airport and bring her home.
Risking my life, I made it halfway through the blaze when she called:
"Never mind, I'll be staying at Xavion's place for a while."
I gripped my phone tightly, but ultimately replied "Okay."
Less than two minutes after hanging up, Vivienne's junior posted a video on social media.
In it, Vivienne's cheeks were flushed red, her eyes crinkled with laughter as she leaned into his embrace.
Outside the window, dazzling fireworks lit up the sky.
The caption read: "After the world ends, will it still be you? @Vivienne"
I casually liked the post, but Vivienne suddenly called to demand what I meant by liking it.
I coolly replied: "It means goodbye."

Hearing this, Vivienne was stunned for a moment and looked at me:


"Exactly what I said. I'm about to leave your flight crew to become a captain on another team, and I've also been promoted to flight instructor."


Vivienne was furious and gritted her teeth:


"Zoran, do you know our flight crew is about to receive the highest safety honor? Do you realize what you're giving up by leaving now?"


Giving up the role of a supporting leaf to become an eagle soaring through the skies.


I remained calm, "Isn't this what you wanted?"


"I'm stepping aside for you and Xavion, so you two can be together."


Seeing this, Xavion pretended to be hurt and said:


"I get it. Zoran, you're saying this to force me to leave. Fine, I'll go."


"Vivienne, after I'm gone, take care of yourself. Don't keep arguing with Zoran because of me."


But Vivienne grabbed him and turned to yell at me:


"Zoran, you've driven Xavion away. Hurry up and apologize to him!"
