Chapter 6

The crowd fell silent as Faye, the background actor, spoke up.

Xavion stood there, stunned, his cold expression slowly crumbling.

He stared at me for a long moment, as if seeing me for the first time.

"A blood transfusion?" His voice was hoarse, his eyes revealing a clear internal struggle.

"Your storytelling skills have certainly improved."

I stood up, leaning against the wall, soaking wet and still shaking.

I could barely stand, but I was determined not to fall.

Xavion looked at me with a cold smirk: "You'd say anything for money, wouldn't you?"

I wiped the water from my face, forcing a smile: "Yeah, that's just who I am, right?"

Faye panicked, wanting to step forward and explain.

I shot her a look, and he froze with his mouth open, his eyes welling up.

"You..." Xavion clenched his fists, his face pale with anger.

Melody quickly grabbed his hand:

"Xavion, don't be angry. She seems to be having a hard time. If she wants money, let's just give it to her."
