The crowd fell silent as Faye, the background actor, spoke up.
Xavion stood there, stunned, his cold expression slowly crumbling.
He stared at me for a long moment, as if seeing me for the first time.
"A blood transfusion?" His voice was hoarse, his eyes revealing a clear internal struggle.
"Your storytelling skills have certainly improved."
I stood up, leaning against the wall, soaking wet and still shaking.
I could barely stand, but I was determined not to fall.
Xavion looked at me with a cold smirk: "You'd say anything for money, wouldn't you?"
I wiped the water from my face, forcing a smile: "Yeah, that's just who I am, right?"
Faye panicked, wanting to step forward and explain.
I shot her a look, and he froze with his mouth open, his eyes welling up.
"You..." Xavion clenched his fists, his face pale with anger.
Melody quickly grabbed his hand:
"Xavion, don't be angry. She seems to be having a hard time. If she wants money, let's just give it to her."
