Nowhere to Stay

Leah hesitated as Aamon turned slightly, like he was about to walk away. Screw it she needed a place to stay.

"Wait." Her voice came out firmer than she expected.

Aamon paused, glancing back at her with a raised brow. "Hmm?"

"Is there a motel or something around here?"

Aamon's expression didn't change, but there was something unreadable in his dark eyes. He exhaled, almost like he was amused.

"A motel?" He chuckled lightly. "No, there isn't."

Leah frowned. "No hotel? Inn? Anything?"

Aamon shook his head. "Not for… visitors."

That last word sent a shiver down her spine. Visitors. Like they didn't get many or weren't supposed to.

Leah huffed. "So where am I supposed to sleep? In my car?"

Aamon tilted his head slightly, studying her. Then, with a slow smirk, he said, "There might be another option."
