Catacombs - Part 3

While Daeva cleaned the plate, fork, and knife, Jake remained seated on the bed, his mind heavy with the weight of the past.

The images of fire, Eleanor’s voice, the spear—they wouldn’t leave him.

But he shook his head sharply, forcing the memories down.

Focus on the present. Not the past.

He had to figure out where he was.

And more importantly—what to do next.

Pushing himself up, Jake glanced around the room.

It was mostly empty, save for a few pieces of furniture:

- The large bed he had woken up in.

- A wardrobe—or closet—standing against the wall.

- A small stone box sitting near the corner.

The stone box caught his attention.

It looked almost like a chest.

Curious, Jake stepped forward and opened it.

Inside—

Toys.

Dozens of children’s toys, carefully placed and preserved, as if left untouched for years.

Jake’s fingers hovered over them, his mind turning.

Was this… a child’s room?

He glanced up, studying the walls and ceiling.
