"Such a gentle shrine maiden must treat you very well," Murata Himeko said with a smile.
"Yes, indeed," Akio nodded. Although it was expected for shrine maidens to serve the gods, it was clear that Kuki Miyuki was different from the others. Everyone could see her feelings.
"So, what's your decision?" Himeko asked with a bright smile.
"Of course, I can't let down my little shrine maiden," Akio smiled. He knew Miyuki's feelings well.
"Then you should go and respond to her. I'll take a look around the Grand Narukami Shrine on my own," Himeko said.
"Alright," Akio nodded and turned toward the kitchen.
Akio walked into the kitchen, where Miyuki was busy cooking by the stove. Miyuki's culinary skills were excellent; she always managed to prepare delicious meals.
If this were his past life, having a gentle and beautiful woman like Miyuki to take care of the household would probably be the ultimate goal for any man.
Akio quietly walked over and wrapped his arms around Miyuki's slender waist from behind.
"Huh?" Miyuki was startled and quickly turned around, only to find that it was Akio.
"Lo… Lord Akio!" Miyuki was completely stunned. She had never dared to imagine that Akio would hold her in his arms.
Miyuki stood there in disbelief, her mind blank. This was something she had never even dreamed of. She had always thought that being a shrine maiden and serving Akio for the rest of her life would be enough.
Seeing the stunned and incredulous look in the eyes of the delicate girl in his arms, Akio gently cupped her face and slowly leaned down to kiss her.
"Mmm~" Miyuki slowly turned around, stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around Akio's neck, and passionately responded to his kiss.
After what felt like an eternity, Miyuki suddenly caught a whiff of something burning. She opened her moist eyes and glanced at the now-burnt food.
"Oh no! Lord Akio! The food is burnt!" Miyuki exclaimed in a panic.
"Burnt? So what," Akio didn't care at all. With a wave of his hand, the fire was extinguished.
"Alright, the fire's out. Let's continue!" Akio pulled Miyuki back and kissed her again.
"Sister, I'm here to get something."
Just as the two were getting heated, a clear voice sounded outside the door, followed by a knock.
"It's Shinobu!" Miyuki opened her eyes, and Akio gently released her.
"Lord Akio, wait for me. Shinobu's here," Miyuki said softly.
"Mm," Akio nodded.
Miyuki walked over and opened the door, revealing a girl with green hair.
The girl had delicate features, resembling Miyuki by about 80%. Her green hair was unique, and her amethyst-like eyes exuded maturity and calmness. An Electro Vision hung from her hair.
Compared to Miyuki, the girl was less gentle but more composed.
"Shinobu, why did you come here yourself today?" Miyuki asked curiously. Her sister seemed to have a natural aversion to the Grand Narukami Shrine and rarely visited.
"I was entrusted to come and get some Sacred Sakura petals," Kuki Shinobu said, then glanced inside and saw Akio. Her expression changed slightly—she naturally recognized him.
"Great Divine Sovereign, hello. I'm Kuki Shinobu," Shinobu quickly introduced herself.
"I've long heard that Miyuki has a knowledgeable sister," Akio nodded with a smile. "Hello, Kuki Shinobu."
"Shinobu, you don't have to be so formal. If you'd like, you can just call me brother-in-law," Akio said with a smile.
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
Both Miyuki and Shinobu were stunned. Miyuki's face instantly turned red. She looked at Akio with joy—his words in front of her sister meant that he had truly accepted her.
Shinobu, on the other hand, was utterly shocked. Her sister was actually in a relationship with Akio!
Shinobu thought she was already quite accomplished, but she never expected her gentle sister to be the most outstanding one, managing to make a god her lover.
"Shinobu, what's with that look?" Seeing her sister's strange expression, Miyuki was almost dying of embarrassment. Although she was happy that Akio had expressed his feelings, it was really awkward in front of her sister!
"Nothing, nothing," Shinobu waved her hand. "Sister, hurry up and get me the Sacred Sakura petals. I won't disturb you and brother-in-law anymore."
"Alright, come with me," Miyuki nodded and looked at Akio. "Lord Akio, I'll go get the Sacred Sakura petals for Shinobu."
"Alright, go ahead," Akio nodded. He decided to toss the ingredients into the Magical Kitchen while he was here. Soon, he'd have a feast ready.
On the way, Shinobu looked at her sister and asked, "Sister, if you two are already lovers, why are you still calling him Lord Akio?"
"We… we just confirmed our relationship today…" Miyuki said shyly. "You knocked on the door right after we confirmed it… I didn't have time to change how I address him."
"Oh~~" Shinobu drew out the word, smirking at her sister. "Sister, what's it like dating a god?"
"I… I'm not telling you!" Miyuki's face turned red at her sister's question. She glared at Shinobu.
"Good sister~ Just tell me! I've never even been in a relationship… I'm just curious!" Shinobu tugged at her sister's hand.
"Hmph! Don't you always say you learn best through personal experience? Why don't you try it yourself and find out?" Miyuki snorted.
"But he's your lover! If I got involved, wouldn't that be…" Shinobu waved her hand. "Forget it, forget it. If you don't want to tell me, that's fine."
"I really don't understand why you dislike being a shrine maiden so much," Miyuki said. "We're from a shrine maiden family. It's our duty to serve the gods. If you could make Lord Akio fall for you, I wouldn't mind."
"You're way too generous," Shinobu said, exasperated.
"I don't care about that," Miyuki waved her hand. "Shinobu, you're a young lady. Why are you always hanging out with that Arataki Gang?"
"Even if you don't want to be a shrine maiden, you should at least have a stable job," Miyuki said seriously. "I'm warning you, your relationship with the family is already strained. You absolutely cannot do anything improper with those people."
"Don't worry, I see them as family. Sister, you don't know, but even though they seem like they're not doing anything productive, they're truly sincere people," Shinobu said. "I don't have any plans to get married or start a family right now."
