Unstoppable Force

"That their camp? OK... time to smoke 'em, bud," Dante said in a low voice. The two were a couple of hundred meters away from the camp, where soldiers sharpened their swords, cooked food, tended to wounds, and trained—all in preparation to terrorize the nearby villages.

Dante quickly assessed the situation, forming a plan in his mind, then charged in silently. Conrad followed close behind. With a swift motion, Dante unsheathed his blade and slashed at three soldiers simultaneously. Conrad continued advancing, but suddenly, arrows were darting toward him. He dodged them with ease, one heavy arrow grazing his shoulder. Mid-air, he jumped off the arrow, grabbing two others that were flying his way and throwing them to pierce through two more soldiers.

Conrad snatched a shield from a fallen soldier, using it to bash in the skulls of the nearest enemies. Dante continued cutting his way through the group, showing no mercy.

Suddenly, a brute of a soldier, at least five times Dante's size, stepped up. Without hesitation, Dante kicked the side of his leg, causing the soldier to collapse before he tore through his heart with a single slash.

But just as they were making progress, Dante sensed something coming at him with incredible speed. He jumped just in time, kicking the incoming projectile back where it came from. Conrad got his shield kicked back at him in the chaos, but quickly redirected it toward a line of soldiers, taking out about forty of them in one go.

"Dang, Conrad, that was close! You threw your shield at me," Dante laughed.

Conrad smirked. "It's because I know your kick is strong. Look at that—took out a bunch in one go."

Dante grinned. "I like the way you think, buddy."

Though the fight had been relatively easy so far, the two knew there were still more enemies to face. Suddenly, a massive figure emerged from the shadows—another brute, even bigger than the first. Dante instantly understood the assignment.

"Conrad, I need a boost!" he yelled.

Without hesitation, Conrad grabbed a rope from his pack and threw it to Dante. With a swift motion, Conrad launched himself at the giant soldier, grabbing the rope and swinging Dante toward the brute. In an instant, Dante pierced through the soldier's armor with his blade while Conrad slammed him into the ground. And him being slammed into the ground led to them discovering explosives scattered everywhere, because the brute just got exploded by one.

"Land mines?? What a drag," Dante muttered, scanning the ground. Hundreds of land mines lay hidden beneath the earth, barely missed by their reckless advance.

"Could be our advantage," Conrad said, his eyes scanning the field for a way to turn the tables.

Dante nodded. "We need to be smarter about this."

The two continued to push forward. Conrad quickly found himself next to the enemy's catapults. With no hesitation, he launched himself into the air using the catapult's mechanism, flying at high speeds toward the enemy lines. A captain spotted him and dashed behind, attempting to land a sword strike on his back while Conrad was mid-air. But Conrad was faster, his reflexes honed from days of grueling training. He pivoted, landing a punch to the captain's ribs, causing seventeen fractures in an instant. The captain crumpled to the ground, unable to fight any longer.

With most of the soldiers fallen, a few stragglers cowered, and one of them blew a whistle. The ground suddenly trembled beneath them, and the air was filled with a gust of wind. The two warriors turned to see a massive armored gorilla, standing at least twenty meters tall. Its enormous frame was wrapped in iron plating, and it carried a double-sided sword, with a few soldiers perched on its back.

Dante stared at the beast. "Oh, this is never gonna end, is it?"
