Fallen Beast

The Armoured Gorilla let out a deafening roar, shaking the ground beneath them. Its massive frame was free from the chains, but its rage had only intensified. Thick, jagged armour covered its body, but cracks now marred the once-impenetrable plating. The beast's eyes burned with fury as it turned its attention to the duo, its fists raised like hammers.

Conrad and Dante stood poised, their bodies tense with anticipation. They had already fought countless enemies, but nothing like this—nothing as monstrous as the Armoured Gorilla. They knew their strategy had to be flawless.

Dante was thinking about Conrad's bizarre plan. The landmines were scattered across the ground, hidden in the dirt and debris, and they were their best chance.

Conrad, gripping the chain weapons tightly, swung them around in a deadly arc, watching the beast's every move. "Let's take it down, piece by piece."

The gorilla charged, its massive fists aimed at Conrad, the ground quaking with every step. But Conrad was quick, darting to the side, narrowly avoiding a crushing blow. The air was thick with tension. Every swing of the gorilla's fists had the power to shatter bone. Conrad used his agility to avoid the brute force, but they both knew it was only a matter of time before the beast would land a blow.

"Dante, now!" Conrad shouted.

Dante wasted no time. With a grunt, he swung his chain towards the gorilla's legs, attempting to trip it. The chain wrapped around one of its massive ankles, and with a powerful yank, Dante pulled. The gorilla staggered, but didn't fall. It growled, anger evident in its every movement.

"Not enough," Dante muttered, eyes darting to the mines. It wasn't enough to slow it down, but it was a start.

Conrad swung both chains with precision, the heavy metal balls crashing into the gorilla's chest. But the beast barely flinched. It had been hardened by countless battles, its armour almost indestructible. Furious, the gorilla swung its arm in retaliation, knocking Conrad backward with a force that sent him skidding across the dirt.

Dante leapt into action, charging the gorilla's back. The beast turned to face him, swinging its massive fists, but Dante was already diving to the side. His sword was drawn in an instant, slashing at the armour, but it barely made a mark.

"Focus, Dante!" Conrad shouted, rolling to his feet and diving to grab one of the fallen chains. "We need to get it to the land mines."

Dante barely registered the warning before the gorilla lunged forward, swinging its massive sword with terrifying speed. Dante's eyes widened, and he barely managed to dodge, the sword grazing his side. The wound burned, but he ignored it. There was no time for pain.

Conrad charged again, swinging his chains at the gorilla's legs with precision. The chains wrapped around its massive feet, but the gorilla retaliated, stomping the ground with such force that it shook the earth beneath them. The shockwave sent both of them tumbling backward. Dante hit the ground hard, gasping for breath.

But the gorilla was starting to slow. The constant battle was wearing it down. Its movements were becoming more erratic, its steps more hesitant. That was the opening they needed.

"Dante, on me!" Conrad called, his voice urgent. He was sure his dangerous but cunning plan would work successfully.

Dante scrambled to his feet, barely avoiding another swipe from the gorilla. He moved to Conrad's side, and together, they swung their chains, pulling the gorilla's legs once more. The beast roared in fury, but they kept their grip tight, pulling it toward the mines.

Conrad and Dante pushed with all their might, dragging the beast across the battlefield, closer and closer to the land mines. Each step forward brought the gorilla closer to its demise.

The first explosion rang out as the gorilla's foot landed on a mine. The ground shook, and a shockwave of dirt and debris flew into the air. The gorilla staggered, roaring in pain, but it was far from finished. Its eyes were wild with rage, and it swung its sword, aiming for Conrad.

Conrad ducked just in time, the massive blade cutting through the air above him. He twisted the chains in his hands, using their weight to strike the gorilla again, this time on its armoured back. The beast howled, but it was still standing.

"Keep going!" Dante shouted, pulling harder on the chain. "We can do this!"

The gorilla's fury was unrelenting. It charged again, but this time, it was slower. It was wounded, the armour hanging loosely from its body in places, cracked and shattered by the explosions. Each step it took was met with another mine detonating, each blast tearing through its once-impenetrable armour.

Another mine exploded under the beast's feet, sending it stumbling forward. The armour on its shoulder plate shattered completely, revealing the gorilla's scarred flesh beneath. Blood poured from the wounds, but it kept fighting, relentless.

"Just a little more…" Conrad panted, sweat dripping from his brow.

The gorilla swiped at them again, its sword a blur of steel, but this time, Dante was ready. He leapt toward the beast, slashing at the exposed flesh with his sword. The blow didn't land cleanly, but it left a deep gash. The gorilla roared in pain, and its sword faltered.

"This is it!" Dante yelled, his eyes gleaming. "Conrad, pull it!"

Conrad twisted the chains one last time, throwing all his strength into it. The metal balls collided with the gorilla's legs, tripping it once more. With a final grunt, the gorilla fell to the ground, its massive body thudding against the dirt.

The battlefield was still. The gorilla lay there, panting heavily, barely able to move. Its armour was in tatters, its body covered in wounds from the landmines and their relentless attacks. The beast's fury had been extinguished, its will to fight shattered.

But it wasn't over yet. With a final effort, the gorilla swung its fist toward them, but its strength was gone. The blow missed, and Dante, seeing the opening, dove toward the sword still lodged in the gorilla's armour.

He yanked it free with a triumphant yell, just as Conrad swung both chains, slamming them into the gorilla's skull. The beast let out a final, guttural growl before it collapsed, its life snuffed out in an instant.

Both Conrad and Dante stood over the fallen beast, panting heavily, their bodies battered and bruised. The battlefield was quiet now, the only sound the harsh rhythm of their breaths.

"Is it… over?" Dante asked, looking down at the beast's motionless body.

Conrad nodded, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "Yeah. We did it."

But neither of them was celebrating. They knew this victory was hard-earned, and that the next battle would be even tougher. But for now, they could rest. They had survived the fight with the Armoured Gorilla, and that was something worth acknowledging...
