Nostalgia & Ghost story

Rose fed the two sisters, cutting up the vegetables they had picked earlier and handing them to the kids.

As she fed them, Rose started singing her favorite song:

( Dan Dan kokoro Hikareteku - Field of View )

" Kimi to de atta toki

Kodomo no koro taisetsu ni omotteita basho wo omoidashitanda

Boku to odotte kurenai ka

Hikari to kage no winding road

Ima demo aitsu nii muchuu nano

Sukoshi dake furimukitakunaru youna toki mo aru kedo

Ai to yuuki to hokori wo motte tatakau yo.... "

Rose and Kai exchanged glances, their voices harmonizing as they continued

" Dan !! Dan !! Kokoro hikareteku... "

Vix, hearing the song, was transported back to his teenage years. "It's really been a long time since I last heard that song. The last time I heard it was around 2010 on Earth, before I was transported here. How is the world now?"

Kai and Rose paused, their smiles fading slightly.

"The world... changed a lot," Kai said, his tone thoughtful. "Technology advanced, but so did the problems. Still, there were moments of beauty, just like this song."

Rose nodded. "Yeah, but no matter how much it changed, some things—like music—stay timeless."

Vix smiled, feeling a mix of nostalgia and hope. "It's good to know that some things never fade away."

But Vix's expression still showed longing for his family, and he was tired of feeling the weight of loss. He didn't even know if his parents were still alive or not.

Kit and Kat hugged their father tightly, wiping away his tears.

"Dad, don't cry. We're still here. Mama would be sad if she saw you crying," the twin said softly.

Vix looked at his daughters, realizing they were stronger than he was in that moment. He wiped his tears and smiled weakly.

"Sorry for showing my weak side. Dad's done crying now. Thank you, my daughters. Sorry for making you worry too much."

He hugged them tightly, feeling a renewed sense of strength.

Rose and Kai stayed quiet, both feeling a bit sad as they remembered their own loss of parents.

For that day, they decided to just rest and spend time together as a family.

In the evening, they went for a walk and played in the river.

As they walked, Kai spotted some beautiful flowers. He picked a few and placed them in Kit and Kat's hair.

Rose clapped her hands. "Whoahh, you two look so cute!"

The two girls blushed but wanted to hear it from Kai.

"Am I cute?" Kit asked, looking at him with hopeful eyes.

"Not cute..." Kai teased, trying to keep a straight face.

"Why?!! Aren't I cute? Aren't I really cute??" Kit and Kat protested, looking at each other in disbelief.

"I am cute..." they insisted, tugging at Kai's pants.

"Am I cute?" they asked again, making sad faces.

"Not cute... as always," Kai continued teasing, unable to hold back a grin.

"Whyyyy???" the two girls whined, their voices filled with mock despair.

Vix and Rose watched the scene, making faces at Kai for teasing the kids so much.

"Stop bullying them, Kai," Rose said, laughing.

Vix shook his head, smiling. "You're such a troublemaker."

Kai finally gave in, ruffling the girls' hair. "Okay, okay, you're both super cute. Happy now?"

Kit and Kat beamed, their smiles lighting up the evening.

**At Night**

The five of them sat in a circle around the bonfire.

The twins were busy warming their hands and tossing small leaves into the fire, their faces glowing with excitement.

Rose, meanwhile, was poking the fire with a stick to keep it burning steadily.

"Be careful, kids. Don't get too close to the fire, or you'll get burned," Rose warned.

But the twins ignored her, too caught up in the fun.

Rose pinched her brother's arm. "Please, do something," she whispered.

"Why is it always me? Damn you," Kai muttered, but he got up and picked up the twins, placing them on his lap.

"Do you want to hear a scary story? It's my story... about the time I met a ghost back in my world," Kai said, his voice low and mysterious.

The twins' eyes widened with excitement, and they nodded eagerly.

Kai began his story:

"That time, I was working late at night. The clock showed 2 a.m. I was the only one left in the office. Everyone else had gone home. I continued working as usual.

Suddenly, I felt hungry, so I went to the restroom to make some instant noodles and a cup of coffee.

As I walked toward the restroom, I noticed a light coming from my boss's office.

I didn't think much of it. Maybe my boss had come back late. But I was sure I saw her leave earlier in the afternoon. Maybe she came back, and I didn't notice.

My boss was a woman. Out of curiosity, I peeked through the gap in the curtains of her office.

I squinted with one eye and saw a woman sitting in my boss's chair. Her hair was long, covering her face, and her clothes looked tattered..."

The twins clung to Kai, their eyes wide with fear but still eager to hear more.

Rose rolled her eyes. "Kai, stop scaring them!"

But the twins shook their heads. "No, no! We want to hear more!"

Kai smirked and continued, his voice dropping to a whisper.

"And then... she turned her head... and looked straight at me..."

The twins screamed, burying their faces in Kai's chest, while Rose laughed at their reaction.

Vix chuckled, shaking his head. "You're such a troublemaker, Kai."

Wait, the story was near the climax...

Kai's voice grew even lower, and the twins clung to him tighter, their eyes wide with fear.

"When she looked at me, her eyes were red. And you know what's even scarier? Her body was still sitting in the chair, but her head... her head started moving toward me. Her neck stretched out, and her face came closer and closer until we were face to face, separated only by the curtain.

I was so shocked that I fell backward. I quickly got up and ran to the elevator, pressing the button frantically to go down. But my office was on the 15th floor, and the elevator was coming up from the ground floor.

While I was waiting, the door to my boss's office creaked open. That woman—no, that ghost—walked out slowly, her neck still stretched out, moving toward me step by step.

I was terrified, pressing the elevator button as fast as I could. Just as the ghost was about to reach me, the elevator doors finally opened. I rushed inside and slammed the close button.

As the doors were closing, the ghost was right in front of the elevator. She smiled... and then her head fell off and rolled into the elevator with me!"

"HUARRRHHHHHH!!!"

The twins screamed at the top of their lungs, burying their faces in Kai's chest. Rose and Vix couldn't help but laugh at their reaction, though even Rose had to admit the story was pretty creepy.

Kai grinned, clearly enjoying the chaos he had caused. "And that's why I never work late at night anymore."

The twins, still trembling, looked up at him with wide eyes. "Is... is that true, Uncle Kai?"

Kai winked. "Who knows? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But one thing's for sure—don't peek through curtains at night!"
