As Liam walked out of the elevator, he was greeted by the receptionist, who looked up at him with a nervous smile. "Mr. Richard Langley, there's someone waiting for you," she said, nodding towards the waiting area. his eyes scanned the room, and his gaze landed on a familiar face - Lucy, my twin sister. She was sitting in the waiting area, looking calm and collected, but with a hint of determination in her eyes. his instincts told him to be cautious. He had never met Lucy before, but he had heard stories about her from me . He walked over to the receptionist and whispered, "I'm busy. Can you please tell her I'm not available?".
But before the receptionist could respond, Lucy stood up and walked over to Liam, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Richard" she said, her voice dripping with seduction. "We meet at last."
Liam's eyes narrowed, unsure of what to make of Lucy's sudden appearance. "Lucy," he said, trying to keep his tone neutral. "What can I do for you?"
Lucy's smile grew wider as she took a step closer to Liam. "I think you know exactly why I'm here," she said, her voice low and husky. "You married my sister, Cassy. And I have to say, I'm a little surprised." Liam's eyes locked onto Lucy's, his mind racing with possibilities. What did she want? And why was she being so... flirtatious? his eyes narrowed, his patience wearing thin. "Lucy, I appreciate you coming to see me, but I'm afraid I'm busy. I need to get home to my wife."
Lucy's smile didn't falter, but her eyes flashed with a hint of annoyance. "Oh, of course," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I wouldn't want to keep you from your precious Cassy".
Liam's jaw clenched, his anger rising. "Lucy, I think it's time for you to leave."
But instead of turning to leave, Lucy took a step closer to Liam, her eyes locked onto his. "Before I go, can I ask you something?" she said, her voice low and husky.
Liam raised an eyebrow, wary. "What is it?"
Lucy's smile grew wider. "Would you like to have dinner with me sometime? Just the two of us?"
Liam's eyes widened in surprise, his mind racing with alarm. What was Lucy playing at? And why was she being so... flirtatious? "I don't think that's a good idea," he said, trying to keep his tone neutral.
Lucy's smile didn't falter, but her eyes flashed with a hint of disappointment. "Oh, come on," she said, her voice teasing. "It'll be fun, I promise."
Liam shook his head, firm. "I'm married, Lucy. And I'm happy."
Lucy's smile grew wider, but her eyes seemed to bore into Liam's soul. "We'll see about that," she said, before turning and walking away, leaving Liam feeling uneasy and unsure of what to make of Lucy's sudden interest in him.
he left the office, still feeling uneasy about his encounter with Lucy. He couldn't shake off the feeling that she was up to something, but he pushed the thought aside and focused on getting home to his precious wife. As he walked through the front door, he was greeted by the warm glow of the living room lights. He gave his briefcase to one of the staff and made his way to the bedroom, feeling exhausted and drained. When he entered the bedroom, he saw me sleeping peacefully, my chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. his heart swelled with love and affection as he gazed at me.
He walked over to the bed and gently sat down beside me, being careful not to disturb me. He leaned over and gave me a soft peck on the forehead. "I love you," he whispered, his voice barely audible. my eyes fluttered open, and I smiled sleepily at him. "Hey," I said, my voice husky with sleep. "Welcome home." he smiled back at me, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. Being with me always made him feel better, and he was grateful for having me by his side.
"How was your day?" I asked, snuggling deeper into the blankets.
he hesitated, unsure of how much to tell me about his encounter with Lucy. But something about my gentle expression made him open up.
"It was a long day," he said, sighing. "I had a meeting with the board, and then I ran into Lucy."
my eyes widened with surprise. "Lucy? What did she want?"
he shrugged. "I'm not entirely sure. But she seemed...different. Almost flirtatious."
my expression turned thoughtful, and I sat up in bed, my eyes locked onto his. "What do you think she wants?" I asked, my voice laced with concern.
he shook his head. "I don't know, but I don't like it. I feel like she's hiding something."
my hand reached out and wrapped around him, my touch warm and reassuring. "i'll figure it out" I said, smiling.
his eyes narrowed as he thought about his encounter with Lucy. "And it's not just Lucy," he said, his voice low and serious. "My uncle, Victor, and my cousin, Marcus, were at the meeting. They're still trying to undermine me and take control of the company."
my expression turned concerned, and I squeezed his hand. "What did they say?" I asked, my voice soft.
his jaw clenched in anger. "They're still trying to use my marriage to you as an excuse to deny me the company. They're saying that I'm not fit to lead because I got married in secret."
my eyes flashed with anger, and I sat up straight, my shoulders squared. "That's ridiculous," I said, my voice firm. "I thought all they wanted was you getting married, does it matter how?.
I bet they feel sad, as they didn't get an opportunity to ruin our wedding, "he said " they are one of the reason I didn't want a grand wedding.
They must be given you a hard time aren't they?
I asked.
Not really, he replied. I've always never wanted to be part of my family business why growing up. because they neglected me,they never had time for me, is always about work, though I got everything every normal child would get, I never get to spend time with my family, got to a point I even hated my father, even before his death, but now I understand the whole thing, we choose our priorities, maybe I wasn't his priority but giving me a better life and making a change on our future generations was, is quite sad it took me long to understand, but now I won't let what he work hard for go to waste and he entrusted it to me, I wouldn't neglect it, or let my uncle and cousin get to me.
that's sad, I replied " I wonder how growing up was like for you?
Everyone has a story, is the difference we make after it that matters, he said. With you by my side, I knew I could face anything, including my uncle and cousin's treachery.
I smiled reassuringly at him. "Don't worry, everything will be fine," I said, my voice soothing. "You've had a long day, and you need to relax. Why don't you take a fresh shower, I I'll help take off your clothes".
he nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He stood up, and I help take off his clothes. he headed to the bathroom, feeling the tension in his body begin to ease. He turned on the shower, letting the cool water wash over him, calming his mind and soothing his muscles. As he showered, he couldn't help but think about me and how much I meant to him. I was his rock, his support, and his everything.
After his shower, he returned to the bedroom, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I was already in bed, looking beautiful and serene. he slipped into bed beside me, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close. we spent the rest of the night lost in each other's eyes, our love and passion for each other burning brighter than ever.
The next day, Lucy sat in the living room, with mom and dad . They were all discussing her encounter with Liam and how she planned to seduce him.
"I know it won't be easy," Lucy said, a determined glint in her eye. "But I'm convinced that Liam and I are meant to be together. And with your support, I know I can make it happen."
dad having a sly smile spreading across his face, off course you have our support, you are the one meant to his wife not Cassy, he added, "And think of the benefits of having Liam as a part of our family. We'll have access to his wealth and power...", we can't let cassy win over us like that
sure dad, and I'll prove to you I can never disappoint this family, I will make liam mine, lucy reply " with alot of determination.
As they continued to discuss about it mom turned to her and said, I know you guys are determined on getting Liam on our side but ruining cassy marriage, don't you think that's too much".
Lucy's expression turned cold, and she snapped, "I don't need your advice, Mother. I know what I'm doing. And I'm going to make sure that Liam and I end up together, no matter what it takes." and besides i was the one meant to be with him not Cassy. "I'll make liam divorce her and marry me ".I need to go to cassy now, I have to speak with her.
Lucy left the house, determined to confront me and make her move on Liam. She arrived at my new home. As she stepped out of her car, Lucy felt a surge of confidence. She was going to make me realize that she was the one who truly belonged with Liam. she walked up to the entrance of the mansion, where she was greeted by the staff. "I'm here to see Cassy," she said, her voice firm.
The staff member, a polite but firm-looking woman, raised an eyebrow. "I'm afraid Mrs. Richard Langley is not receiving visitors at the moment," she said.
Lucy's eyes narrowed. "I'm her sister," she said, trying to sound as convincing as possible. "I need to speak with her."
The staff member hesitated, clearly unsure of what to do. "Let me check with Mrs. Richard Langley," she said finally.
Lucy nodded, a triumphant smile spreading across her face. She knew that I would have to see her eventually. The staff member disappeared inside the house, leaving Lucy to wait. A few moments later, I appeared at the top of the stairs, a look of curiosity on my face.
"Can I help you?" I asked, my voice polite but wary.
Lucy's smile grew wider as she gazed up at me "Oh, Cassy" she said, her voice dripping with sweetness. " aren't you even going to invite me in?".
I nodded to the staff member, who stepped aside to let Lucy in. "Please, follow me," I said, leading Lucy to the sitting room.
As we walked, Lucy couldn't help but notice the opulent decorations and the stunning views of the garden. She felt a pang of jealousy, knowing that I had stolen Liam's heart and was now living in the lap of luxury.
Once we were seated in the sitting room, I turned to Lucy and asked, "What's this about?, you said we needed to talk.
Lucy smiled, trying to appear nonchalant. "Oh, I just wanted to catch up with you, twin sister. See how you're adjusting to married life."
I raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying Lucy's innocent act. "I'm adjusting fine, thank you for asking. But I'm sure you didn't come all the way here just to ask about my well-being."
she leaned forward, her eyes locked onto mine. "Actually, I was wondering if Liam is around. I needed to speak with him about something."
my expression turned neutral. "my husband is not home. He's at the office."
Lucy's face fell, but she quickly recovered. "Oh, okay. Well, in that case, I'll just have to talk to you instead."
my eyes narrowed, sensing that something was off. "What's going on, Lucy? What do you want to talk about?"
Lucy's smile grow wider as she began to speak, and her voice dripping with malice. " about your little secret, how you know Liam was Alexander Richard Langley all along and kept it away from us".
