The Lost Independence

The silence that lay in Arabella's mind was clear. As she was wondering why he would be in the earthly realm, Arabella snapped to reality and regained her past memories about Adrien.

Adrien was a knowledgeable Nobel but his greed to acquire more knowledge led to his introduction to the mercenary king.

Adrien had curly, bark-colored brown hairs with beautiful green eyes that looked like fresh grasses on a sunny day; his skin color was olive with a Greek nose and a complexion that could hold a stranger. He sure looked as if he was the 'man nature '.

Gaining knowledge while residing in the Rumelle chateau made him a close companion of the mercenary king.

With all these godly features, it took no time for him to become the crush of Arabella.

They ended up being in a relationship, but...

He was a wolf in the sheep's cover, he betrayed Arabella, and if it wasn't enough for him, Arabella was manipulated by him all along.

She really wanted to regain all her memories, but one of the things that she wanted to forget the most was her past with Adrien; she loved him and cared for him, but in the end, she suffered betrayal from her beloved Adrien!

It was a traumatic experience for her, but she thought that now it was actually great that she remembered all her past; it was time to take vengeance for all the betrayal she had suffered.

"Karma can lick shoes for all I care! I will take my revenge with these hands of mine! I will teach Adrien what the actual feeling of trauma is!"

Arabella took a resolution.

This time, she was determined not to be the sufferer but to be at the top of the chain; her eyes took a turn and lit up like stars on a new moon night.

But the actual problem lies in how she was gonna achieve all that.

She'll have to be pre-planned for all of this; she needed time, enough to make a flowchart of sequences in her mind; she wasn't someone who would act on her impulses; she rather seemed to believe in 'the slow and steady wins the race' concept.

"Well, first of all, what's important right now is to escape from this goddamn place with Arimielle and clarify her my identity as well as to find out why Arimielle is suddenly paralyzed." she thought to herself and moved within the crowd as if she was a daily visitor of that place.

As soon as the royal guards passed... She ran to Arimielle, stole a chariot, and headed straight to the countryside with her.

The galloping sounds of the horses on the ground continued as the chariot ran through that rusty path; it didn't take long enough for them to move far from the capital; she could feel the fresh winds and the smell of sunflowers tingling her nostrils as she traveled cross

"I didn't know that you could run a chariot.

When did you learn it?" asked Mielle with curious eyes, looking towards Arabella, who looked sore due to her continuous cry over her not being able to move herself freely.

"Oh, I didn't learn it. I just saw those drivers driving this thing and I was quick to catch on; it isn't that difficult to ride this," replied Arabella with a reassuring tone in her voice, trying to calm Arimielle.

She might not have known Arimielle, but she could definitely see that Mielle loved her freedom; she was an independent bird.

Suddenly being paralyzed must have been a troublesome thing for Mielle. As a service to humanity, she decided to help her instead of just leaving her out on the road.

After all, Mielle was her own blood.

"You didn't answer my question from before. Why are you acting peculiar, Ari?" queried Mielle with a concerned expression for her sister.

She disliked the thought of her sister acting like a stranger beside her.

"Oh well, about that ... I am on my period. It's just the mood swings taking control over me," replied Arabella with a nonchalant expression, thinking it would at least help her for now.

She wanted to tell Mielle about herself, but her condition said something else, so she decided to tell her about it later.

"We have almost reached the countryside, Mielle.", said Arabella with shining eyes as the zephyr stroked her soft yet bold facial features.

A sense of relief ran through her, she was glad she had escaped that hectic place where she was just constantly worried.

She looked at Mielle and saw her quivered lips with a cold expression, maybe it was due to the cold or perhaps a sudden change in the weather.

She hadn't noticed that the cold had increased in the countryside and it was already dark. The sun had set, and they had to prepare a tent to stay the night there.

She thought of waking up Mielle but it would not do any benefit to her as Mielle was unable to do any sort of work.

So, she just decided to make a tent all by herself. It took some time, but the tent was ready; all that was left was for her to carry Mielle inside the tent.

"I am sorry. You had to do all the work by yourself.", Mielle apologized with a hollow expression; she looked so depressed; being paralyzed wasn't normal for her; it isn't normal for anyone.

"It's ok. You can pay me back with a blueberry pie; I won't mind it. ", said Arabella, trying to lift the heavy mood of Mielle, but it didn't work at all.

Mielle didn't even bother to listen to what she said ....she was just staring blankly at the grass, desperate to touch it.

Mielle had to accept that what had happened could not be avoided. She needed to ...in fact, she had to face the reality. She couldn't just sit idle and be depressed with her life.

Arabella knew it all, yet she decided to accompany her sister, who was actually a stranger beside her.

"Let me take you to the tent.", said Arabella with a soft voice trying to convey that everything was okay.

It wasn't her fault rather, it was something that was scripted by her fate.

"Hmmm..." Mielle replied with a still and unconscious-like face.

No matter what, she had lost her freedom, she had lost her own will, it felt like losing the world before her eyes to her.

It didn't matter what anyone said no, since the one that was actually suffering all that pain was Mielle herself.
