Player One: Last Chance

Chapter 3: The Guardian's Wrath

The monstrous System Guardian loomed over them, its digital form flickering with raw, unstable energy. Its glowing red eyes locked onto Aryan and his team, scanning them with a piercing gaze. A deep, mechanical voice echoed through the vast digital void:

"Unauthorized entities detected. Initiating termination protocol."

Without warning, the Guardian lunged forward, its massive claws swiping through the air like slicing daggers of data corruption. Aryan barely dodged as the platform beneath them trembled.

"We need a plan!" Nyx shouted, already drawing her energy blades.

Kaine smirked. "The plan is simple. We kill it before it kills us."

A Battle Against Code

Shira analyzed the creature's code through her wrist console. "It has a regeneration function! Attacks won't work unless we disable its core data threads."

Aryan gritted his teeth. "Then we hit where it hurts."

He activated his Phantom Slash, his sword shimmering with digital energy as he leaped toward the Guardian. His blade struck its arm, causing a burst of golden sparks. But instead of staggering, the Guardian absorbed the attack, its wounds knitting back together instantly.

"Shit!" Aryan cursed, flipping backward. "It's healing too fast!"

Shira's fingers danced over her console. "I found the weak point! There are three core nodes embedded in its body. We destroy those, and it won't be able to regenerate."

With lightning-fast reflexes, she dashed across the floating platforms, striking the first node on the Guardian's left shoulder. The crimson orb cracked, sending shockwaves through the beast's body.

"Nice hit!" Kaine grinned as he fired explosive rounds at the second node, located near the creature's abdomen. The Guardian let out a deafening, metallic roar as its system began glitching.

Only one node remained.

A Desperate Gamble

Aryan saw his chance. "I'm going in!"

He sprinted up the shifting platforms, using the instability of the digital terrain to his advantage. The final node was at the center of the Guardian's forehead.

With a battle cry, he launched himself into the air, his sword glowing brightly. "Phantom Overdrive—Final Strike!"

His blade pierced the final node, shattering it into a million golden fragments. The Guardian froze, its massive body beginning to collapse into corrupted code.

[MISSION COMPLETE: SYSTEM GUARDIAN DEFEATED]

The team barely had time to celebrate before the digital void around them began to collapse.

Shira's console beeped urgently. "The System is rebooting again! We need to get out of here!"

A new portal materialized in front of them, glowing an eerie blue.

Kaine raised an eyebrow. "And if this is a trap?"

Aryan smirked. "Then we fight our way out, just like always."

One by one, they stepped into the portal, the collapsing void swallowing everything behind them.

As Aryan crossed the threshold, a mysterious voice whispered in his mind:

"You're not supposed to be here… but now that you are, let's see how long you can survive."
