Chapter 7: Firewall Showdown

The rooftop trembled beneath their feet as the massive security drone loomed above them, its mechanical body bristling with weapons. Red targeting lasers locked onto Aryan and his team, scanning them for threats.

"INTRUDERS DETECTED. INITIATING IMMEDIATE TERMINATION."

"Not happening!" Aryan growled, gripping his sword tightly. The drone's cannons whirred, preparing to unleash a barrage of plasma rounds.

Vega pressed a command on her wristband. "I'll try to jam its sensors! Buy me some time!"

Kaine and Nyx took defensive positions, firing at the drone's joint points, attempting to weaken its armor. But the shots barely left a scratch on its reinforced plating.

"We need to find a weak spot!" Shira called out, analyzing the drone's structure through her visor. "It has a cooling vent at its base! If we can overheat its system, it'll shut down!"

He activated Phantom Dash, vanishing into a blur of speed as he dodged the incoming laser blasts. The rooftop erupted in flames as plasma bolts rained down, barely missing him. With precision, he leaped onto the drone's back, gripping onto its metallic frame.

SLASH! His sword sliced through a section of armor, exposing the cooling vent. The drone jerked violently, trying to shake him off.

Shira tossed an EMP grenade directly into the exposed vent. The moment it detonated, sparks flew from the drone's core, and its systems glitched.

"ERROR. ERROR. SYSTEM OVERLOAD—"

The drone let out a final mechanical whine before exploding into a fiery burst of debris.

The team barely had time to react before Vega's wristband beeped urgently. "Damn it! Reinforcements are on the way. We need to move—NOW!"

They descended into the lower city levels, disappearing into the chaotic streets of Neon Prime. As they caught their breath in a hidden alley, Vega smirked at Aryan.

"You fight like a legend. But this is just the beginning."

Aryan exhaled, gripping the encryption key tightly. The real game had only just begun.
