Chapter 6: Digital Shadows

The city of Neon Prime was alive with the hum of machinery and neon lights flickering against the dark skyline. Aryan and his team moved swiftly through the alleyways, guided by Vega. The near escape from the cyber-enforcers had left them breathless, but there was no time to rest.

"We need to get to the Phantom Grid," Vega said, pulling up a holographic interface. "It's the only place where we can access the core system without getting traced."

Shira frowned. "That place is locked behind quantum encryption. Even if we get there, hacking in is impossible without a key."

Vega smirked. "And that's why we're going to steal one."

Aryan sighed. "Why am I not surprised?"

They arrived at a towering skyscraper, its glass exterior pulsing with streams of data. The Cyber Nexus Corporation—one of the strongest AI-controlled entities in the game.

"This is where they store the encryption keys," Vega explained. "We need to break in, grab one, and get out before they detect us."

Kaine cocked his rifle. "Stealth or guns blazing?"

"Stealth," Vega said. "If they catch us, we're as good as deleted."

They infiltrated the building through a service entrance, slipping past security drones. Aryan's Phantom Cloak kept them hidden, but the tension was thick.

Inside, the corridors were lined with endless rows of data vaults, glowing with information streams.

"There," Vega whispered, pointing to a heavily secured console. "That's the access panel."

Shira immediately got to work, her fingers flying over the screen. "Almost… got it…"

"Damn it," Nyx hissed. "They've found us."

The walls split open, revealing automated turrets that locked onto their position.

"Move!" Aryan shouted, slicing through the closest turret as Kaine fired suppressive shots.

Vega tossed a holo-disruptor, creating a temporary blind spot in the security feed. "Shira, NOW!"

"Got it!" she yelled, snatching the encryption key from the console.

With the key in hand, they made a break for the exit, dodging laser fire. The moment they reached the rooftop, a massive drone descended, blocking their escape.

"Unauthorized access detected. Termination initiated."

Aryan's grip on his sword tightened. It was time for the real fight.
