Chapter 6

The Team 8 and other Teams began arriving, just as I had anticipated. As the last group walked in, I felt something was missing. Meadow surveyed the room, a hint of a pause before speaking.

"Everyone's here, but... something feels off," he said, a slight hesitation in his voice. "Oh, I forgot to mention - two groups, unfortunately didn't make the cut for this round. We're down to nine remaining teams."

Meadow's expression shifted, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "And... I also forgot to mention something important," he added, pausing for a moment. "As a reward, two teams will have the privilege of returning outside the tower."

My eyes widened in shock, "So… that means that i'll be able to return outside again? but it might not be the same as I remembered…"

.

.

.

Meadow's smirk grew wide as he announced, "And the two teams are... Team 3 and Team 8!" Meadow added, "Team 3 and Team 8, please stand up and head to the center. I'll get you teleported outside the tower from there."

I made my way to the center of the area, joining my teammates as we converged with Team 8.

Everything went black for a fleeting instant. When I opened my eyes again, I found myself standing in the familiar area of my school, exactly where I had been before.

I felt a shock run through me as I took in the scene. There were monsters everywhere - huge snakes roaming the streets. I saw a few people scatterbrained around, the same situation as me.

Portals - dungeons - gates. I don't care what the oval shaped mysterious thing is called, this was already expected.

"I saw these things before I was transferred into the tower, infact, I know alot about this." I murmured.

I remembered that I have a 'guide book' that I made myself. Monsters – Portals – Towers – I researched everything about this kind of things in manhwas.

I looked behind my bag and saw my backpack, it was there again. "... Fortunately, they returned it or else I can't have the guide book."

.

.

.

I searched my backpack for the book until I finally found it. A B5 green binder that's completely full of information that I gathered.

"There's also a chance that the snake won't be here in my guide book because," I paused. "I gathered all this important through manhwas and novels, but status windows - portals - towers came true so why not the monsters?" I continued searching my book.

I swiftly flipped through the pages and found the information of the large and purple snakes that I have seen roaming around the streets.

"There! I knew it, I felt like I have written information about a purple snake somehow but we're still not sure… since I didn't include pictures at all." I thought but overthinking wasn't the choice in this situation.

I looked around and saw the purple snake coming closer to our area. The other students and teachers realized it and ran to the farthest way possible but there's a chance they might have ran across a monster.

I ran to the monster's direction, "Hey, you fucking purple snake!" The monster quickly had his attention on me.

"Catch me if you can!" I exclaimed.

"Hey, Is she insane?!" A student yelled.

I sprinted down the street, the purple snake chased me. Its massive body slithered effortlessly, its venomous fangs bared. I could hear the other students and teachers shouting in a mix of fear and confusion.

As I ran, I rummaged through my backpack, searching for anything that could help me. My hand reached for a thick book. It was definitely more helpful than nothing.

I glanced over over my shoulder, seeing the snake's jaws wide open, ready to strike. I raised the book and slapped the snake.

"Ugh, fuck you!" I showed my middle finger and took the advantage of the distraction to put some distance between us.

As I ran, I could hear the snake recovering from the hard slap, its angry hisses echoing through the streets. I knew I couldn't outrun it for much longer.

"Shit, can you fricking stop already?! I'm only 12 years old, I'm still too young to die from a ugly monster!" I yelled.

Suddenly, I spotted a place I could hide in – the 7-11.
