Chapter 7

I burst through the door, slamming it shut behind me. I leaned against the door, panting heavily, and looked around the convenience store. It was empty, except for the workers who was injured due to the unexpected situation.

I rushed over to the injured workers, concern visible on my face. "Oh, are you guys alright? what happened here?"

One of the workers, a young woman, groaned, clutching her arm. "We... we were attacked by those monsters. We tried to defend ourselves but... but there were too many of them.

I nodded sympathetically, "May I ask what monster it is?"

The young woman replied to my question, "It's... it's called a zombie."

Minutes passed and I searched my backpack for some towels that I can use to prevent more bleeding.

As I handed the towels to the injured workers, they nodded gratefully and began to apply pressure to their wounds. The young woman smiled weakly at me. "Thanks... thanks for helping us."

I smiled back, trying to reassure her. "No worries, we'll just figure out what to do next."

I walked to a nearby table and sat on the chair to search my 'guide book' about the zombie, the workers mentioned.

I flipped and flipped the pages until I found page 49, information about zombies.

I glanced at the workers, "Hey, do you guys want to follow along with me?"

The others paused, 'Uh-oh, I must've broken them for a moment…' I thought.

"Uhm, is it to awkward?"

"No, it really isn't. We're just worried about the danger lurking outside…"

"Ah, that's understandable! but it's a shame if you guys just stay here." I replied with concern. "Oh, I forgot to mention, did you guys got let out by the tower since you all don't look older than 27?"

"Yeah, we did all got the privilege because we're all in the same team in the tower." The young woman said while looking at her companions.

"Also, we'd rather not come with you, I'm afraid we're only going to cause trouble for a young student like you." The others nodded in agreement.

"Oh… well, it's definitely fine if you don't come with me! I'll just hope that you guys will all be alright."

I said my goodbyes to the workers, wishing them a great day and that they live a long life.

An hour has passed and I walked until I arrived at a crowded area. A man suddenly started speaking with his microphone on, not overthinking about what could happen.

"Tsk, what are they doing? this is dangerous. Most monsters are sensitive to sound, they might come here and… I don't want to think about it." I thought.

People were here, old people and young students who got out from the tower.

"Good afternoon, my dear people. As we know, mysterious things have started appearing and…"

"Blahblahblah. I hate it when people talk about boring stuff." I mumbled with an irritated face. I gripped the strap of my backpack tightly, worried that a few people will try to take it away from me.

I looked around, I recognized some people. "Huh, I'm surprised that she's even alive at this point." I saw the girl who I hated most at school, she's mean as fuck.

"Ugh, I just want to strangle her sometimes but now's not the time to be thinking that."

All of a sudden, I heard weird sounds around us and I looked back, I saw the large snake. "Hah! I knew it, it would come here. Maybe, some other monster types will also come, I'm looking forward to that."

To be continued…
