In the Middle

Ratsujin was looking at the ground as he walked across the road and stood right before the entrance of Vanguard Academy. His hands were clenched onto his bag straps.

"Dad never breaks his promise...."

Ratsujin talked to himself while standing right before the entrance. He was reassuring himself.

As Ratsujin was talking to himself, the sun shone on the silver doors, which caused them to reflect in Ratsujin's crimson eyes.

"Haaah........"

Ratsujin took a deep breath before he walked through the entrance.

On the other hand, G-Pa was standing on the other side of the road, monitoring Ratsujin's every movement while talking on the phone.

G-Pa's one hand was clenched with anger while the other was holding the phone. His eyes could not see Ratsujin in such turmoil. He wanted to call his grandson back to him.

After seeing Ratsujin walking through the entrance, G-Pa broke his silence. He gritted his teeth in anger as he spoke.

"That's It, I am Going After Him.....!!!"

As soon as G-Pa finished talking, he began to walk across the street in a hurry.

"Stop....." A heavy, mysterious voice escaped from the phone just as G-Pa was about to walk through the entrance.

G-Pa listened to the voice and did not take a single step forward, but he was trying to get to Ratsujin in such a hurry that after he stopped. He almost stumbled.

G-Pa's eyes were still locked on Ratsujin walking away from him as he tried to reason with, the voice. "But, he is....."

Before G-Pa could finish his sentence, the voice escaped from the phone again. "A Kid....."

"That's what were you about to say weren't you...." The voice stated in an uncanny voice.

The voice continued, "Don't you think I know that. He is a Kid, but not an ordinary one. He is destined to do this with us or without us. All of us know that. You also know that, but you think stopping him from this is you saving him, but if you do not stop that. Both of you will be the one, who is going to hurt him the most."

"So, would both of you do me a favor? If you can't help him then do not stop him." The voice spoke in a demanding tone.

"Beep....! Beeepp...! Beeeepppp.....!!!"

The call got disconnected as the voice finished.

G-Pa was going through a mixture of feelings after hearing the voice. He wanted to stop Ratsujin, but at the same time, he knew it would be better for him if he didn't stop him.

"Crack....!"

Suddenly, G-Pa's phone screen shattered.

The screen shattered due to the sheer amount of force G-Pa was applying to the phone. G-Pa kept on increasing his force on the phone with each step Ratsujin was taking away from him, and when Ratsujin had walked so far from him that his eyes were barely able to spot him. The phone cracked.

Several minutes later, inside the main building of Vanguard Academy.

"Shuffle, shuffle."

"Rustle, murmur."

In the main lobby of the building, an enormous amount of students were walking. Students were in various age groups starting from thirteen to nineteen years, but all of them had one thing in common it was their outfits. All of them were wearing the exact same outfit Ratsujin was wearing a black pan, a white shirt, a coat with Vanguard Academy's emblem, and a tie.

"Tap… tap… tap…"

Ratsujin was walking in the middle of the crowd. His eyes widened in shock and fear after seeing the crowd. He was nervously walking between them, trying to find a way to his classroom, but the crowd was so huge that he could barely see walls for direction. Every time he tried to reach a wall, someone walked before him and pushed him back in the middle.

"Glk… glk."

Ratsujin gulped in nervousness as he tried to call someone out to guide him.

"Excuse me....."

"Hello....."

"Mister..."

"Would you....."

"Class....."

"First year....."

Ratsujin tried to talked to many students, but none of them payed attention to him. He even tried to ask some of the teachers, but they also ignored him like he does not exsist for them. Not a single person paid attention to Ratsujin or even looked at him.
