A surge of uneasiness went through the G-Pa's body. His eyes were locked on Ratsujin while walking with him. The gentle breeze was passing between them. There was an uncanny silence between them. In his heart, he knew that Ratsujin was wrong, but he was hesitant to blow out the flicker of hope Ratsujin had in his heart.
Ratsujin was still walking with his eyes closed on the sidewalk. Something was going on in his mind. He was calm even after knowing that his G-Pa had hidden the truth that his Dad had broken his promise. His fists were clenched, but his mind was calm.
"Tch...!"
Seeing Ratsujin like this made G-Pa clenched his fists in frustration. His frustration was clearly seen through his face. G-Pa looked at Ratsujin's face and said to himself.
"Ratsujin must face the truth..."
As soon as G-Pa finished talking to himself, he gently placed his right hand on top of Ratsujin's shoulder, but the second before his hand made contact with Ratsujin's shoulder. Ratsujin stopped walking, which caused G-Pa's hand to freeze in mid-air.
"Hhhhfffhh....!"
Ratsujin took a deep breath and slowly opened his eyes. His crimson eyes were finally open. They were reflections of the sun in the middle of his crimson eyes. Ratsujin's forehead was covered by his hair as he had Veil Bangs hairstyle. His eyes were gleaming through his thick brown hair as he murmured.
"It's here....."
"The Vanguard Academy...."
Just as Ratsujin finished, he looked across the street and saw giant entrance doors made of silver with two huge emblems on the right side of the door. The emblems are VA. Beyond those doors lies the Vanguard Academy, which expands to 400,000 square feet.
After you walk through the doors, the first thing you notice is a meticulously maintained garden stretches across the entrance, filled with exotic flora and marble pathways, offering a serene contrast. Surrounding the academy are private parking lots, lined with high-end vehicles.
At the heart of it all stands the main building, a masterpiece of architecture, exuding authority and refinement. The academy is renowned for its strict discipline, where excellence is not just encouraged but expected. Every hall, every classroom, and every corridor is crafted with precision, and adorned with intricate gold-trimmed designs and high-tech enhancements.
G-Pa also observed the Vanguard Academy with Ratsujin and said to himself. "So this is the place you want your son to go....."
G-Pa was not impressed by the sheer size of the academy or its lavishing design. He was giving the Academy building a stern look a silent threat to not to mess with his grandson.
"Thank you, G-Pa, for walking with me here," Ratsujin said to his G-Pa after looking at the Academy entrance.
As Ratsujin finished, he gently took his bag from G-Pa's shoulder without even him realizing it.
Ratsujin decided to walk away as he took his bag, but before he could even make a single step. G-Pa swiftly placed his hands on Ratsujin's shoulder and stopped him. He made Ratsujin turn around and also went on his knees on the sidewalk so Ratsujin didn't have to look up to him to talk.
G-Pa began to speak to Ratsujin in his calming and soothing voice. "Ratsujin, I know how much you wanted to walk with your father here. I know that you want to have lunch with your father. I also know that you love him so much that you might not even eat before he comes back."
Ratsujin did not look at his G-Pa as he was talking to him. His eyes were locked on the sidewalk.
G-Pa continued, "I know that you are upset at me for not telling you about your father before, but you should also know that your father loves you more than you love him. You and I know that your father never breaks his promise, but you should face the truth. Your father is not co....."
"He will..."
Ratsujin murmured before his G-Pa could finish.
Ratsujin continued to speak while looking at the sidewalk, "You said it yourself. Dad never breaks his promise. I believe in him."
As soon as Ratsujin finished, he shrugged off his G-Pa's hands and walked across the street with his crimson eyes looking at the road.
G-Pa was left speechless after hearing Ratsujin's response. He wanted to stop Ratsujin, but he couldn't. He knew the love Ratsujin have for his father is so strong that no sword could break it, no words could penetrate it, and no one could take his father's place.
G-Pa's eyes were locked on Ratsujin walking towards the Vanguard's entrance as his left hand reached for his phone.
"Beep-beep-beep."
G-Pa swiftly speed-dial a number and places the phone on his left ear while his eyes monitor Ratsujin.
"Click...!"
The phone connects.
G-Pa wasted no time and said, "Where are you?"
A deep and mysterious voice escaped from G-Pa's phone, "New York....."
