Trinity's house was a simple one. It was more of a studio apartment type, with a bedroom, a small kitchen, a joint bathroom and toilet, and a small veranda outside.
The bonus of the house she picked was that it was a standalone. So, she didn't need to share with anyone else.
The bedroom was the first room that greeted her once she entered the house, so she headed to the bed once she got inside.
Inside the small spaced bedroom, there was a small desk and a chair which she used when writing or eating. It was more of a dining space in this house of hers.
She put her things on the bed, took the box to the desk and sat on the chair, ready to unravel the mystery that had been sent to her.
With the box on top of the desk, Trinity rubbed her hands in anticipation, her eyes sparkling like stars in the sky.
"Let's see what we have here!" she excitedly said as she started opening the box.
It was tapped, so she cut the tape with a sharp knife. Once the tape was dealt with, the box automatically opened.
Badum. Badum. Badum.
With one step closer to seeing what was inside, her heart started thumping loudly and excitedly. She felt like she would have a heart attack at any moment.
Nonetheless, she calmed herself. It would be bad if something bad happened to her when she hadn't even seen what was waiting for her in there.
With eagerness in her movements, she fished her hands inside the box and fished out an envelope.
It was directed at her, and she saw the need to read it first before she took what was inside there.
She carefully tore the envelope open, and what she saw next astounded her.
"What a beautiful greeting card!" she amusingly said, her eyes smiling into crescents as a granite black card written in gold greeted her.
'Let's see what's here!' she mused as she looked at the familiar language used on the card.
She was living in Botwaru, though she was a citizen of Nyandabwe. The parcel was sent to her in Botwaru and yet the card was written in the Nyandabwe language, making her wonder what kind of black technology she was dealing with right now.
Anyway, the issue of language wasn't that important as it made it easier for her to understand the card easily and faster so that she might get to the main meaning of the gift.
[Congratulations Trinity Ngani for winning our first prototype T 001. We sincerely hope that with it accompanying you, all your wishes will come true.
May our cooperation be everlasting. Wish you the best of luck!]
There wasn't much information revealed on the card, but one thing was for certain: she was the first person who would be using this T 001 thing, whatever it was. And suddenly being first after not having placed first in so many years, Trinity felt her blood racing.
She felt revived and all the pain, sadness, and anguish of getting fired completely vanished.
Who cared about a measly job when she was about to get something that might even make her name known throughout the planet and make those people who looked down on her fawn at her when they met her?
With excitement coursing through her body, she set the card on the side and fished her hands into the box once again. This time, she fished out a rectangular box, similar to that of a normal smartphone.
The box was just all black, without any images to show what it was.
She didn't waste any time to guess what it might be but continued to unveil the mystery.
She opened the box and her hands froze as she looked at what lay inside; a pitch-black sleek phone.
"This …. Why does it look like that newly released TIAWEI RT25 model?" she mumbled to herself as she regained control of her limbs, her eyes darting on the phone, observing it closely.
The TIAWEI RT25 model was a phone that had just recently been released to the public. It was very slim and had a great size. She had always loved her phone sizes big and the storage enormous as well.
So, seeing a slim 6,8 inches phone. How could she not be happy?
With trembling hands, she carefully picked up the phone from the box and looked at it seriously, turning it around to see the whole design in design.
To her greatest surprise, the phone just looked like a phone, with nothing amiss. Feeling a bit let down by the design, she continued to look into the box and managed to take out a phone cover, which looked suspicious.
However, she didn't dwell much on the matter, as there was something more to take out, an earbuds case, and nothing more.
"Where is the charger?" she mumbled to herself as she checked the boxes in earnest, but after rummaging for a while, she found nothing.
"Could it be that they forgot?" she felt her temples throbbing at the thought, however, there was nothing that she could do at this stage.
Maybe she can contact them later once she is done checking everything.
With that thought in mind, Trinity picked an instruction manual from the box. Although she already knew that the gift was a phone, it wouldn't hurt to see what kind of phone it was and how to operate it.
When she looked through the manual, her eyes quivered as her lips twitched.
"What the heck is this?" she asked dumbfoundedly, breathing heavily, as she picked up the phone hurriedly, her hands trembling.
However, once the phone was in her hands, she closed her eyes and chanted a mantra to calm herself down.
After doing so for a while, her trembling hands calmed down and her heavy breathing calmed to some extent as well.
Her eyes snapped open, resolution in them as she looked at the phone in her hands with a piercing gaze. If it could talk, it would probably complain at the unsettling gaze. Unfortunately, it couldn't, or so she thought.
Following the instructions from the manual, Trinity put the phone and the cover together and witnessed a miracle.
It was like magic and a scene from a science fiction movie.
Once the cover was added to the phone, it merged with the phone as one. And the phone switched itself on, a melodic tune sounding as T 001 boldly appeared on the screen; the same way the name of phones usually appears on the screen once a phone is switched on.
However, the process didn't last as long as it usually does with the phones she knew, as after a few seconds; it was gone, and the phone was online.
[Welcome, user Trinity Ngani,] a cute fluffy chibi kitten appeared on the screen, blinking its huge eyes as a bubble appeared on the screen with the greeting.
Upon seeing that, Trinity's eyes bulged and her jaws nearly dropped to the ground as her hand once again trembled at the surprise.
Just what exactly was this T 001 she just received?
