Julian's mind was reeling with questions. "What crime did Sophia witness?" he asked Sarah.
Sarah hesitated before speaking. "Sophia witnessed a murder," she said. "A murder committed by a powerful crime lord."
Julian's eyes widened in shock. He had no idea Sophia had been involved in something so serious.
"What happened to Sophia?" Julian asked, his voice shaking with emotion.
Sarah's expression was somber. "Sophia was placed in witness protection," she said. "But somehow, her location was compromised. That's when Marcus stepped in to help."
Julian turned to Marcus, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," he said. "I owe you my life."
Marcus smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You don't owe me anything," he said. "I'm just glad I could help."
But as they spoke, Julian couldn't shake the feeling that they were still in danger. The crime lord who had killed Sophia's friend was still out there, and Julian knew he would stop at nothing to silence them.
Julian's eyes were filled with a mix of emotions - sadness, anger, and gratitude. He was sad that Sophia had to go through such a traumatic experience, angry that the crime lord was still out there, and grateful that Marcus had helped them.
Marcus seemed to sense Julian's emotions. "We'll get through this," he said. "We'll make sure the crime lord pays for what he did."
Julian nodded, feeling a sense of determination. "I want to help," he said. "I want to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone else."
Marcus smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I knew I could count on you," he said.
As they spoke, Sarah walked over to a small desk in the corner of the room. She pulled out a folder filled with papers and photographs.
"What's that?" Julian asked, his curiosity piqued.
Sarah's expression was serious. "This is the evidence Sophia collected," she said. "It's enough to put the crime lord away for life."
Julian's eyes widened as he realized the significance of the evidence. They had the power to bring down the crime lord and keep their family safe.
But as they began to discuss their next move, Julian heard a faint noise outside. It sounded like footsteps, crunching through the gravel.
