The Visitor

Julian's heart skipped a beat as he heard the footsteps getting closer. He exchanged a nervous glance with Marcus and Sarah.

"Who could that be?" Sarah whispered, her eyes scanning the room.

Marcus's expression was grim. "I don't know, but we need to be careful."

Julian nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. Could it be the crime lord's men? Or someone else entirely?

As they waited in silence, the footsteps stopped outside the cabin door. There was a pause, and then a knock.

"Who is it?" Marcus called out, his voice firm.

There was a hesitation, and then a voice replied, "It's Agent Thompson from the FBI."

Julian's eyes widened in surprise. What was an FBI agent doing here

Julian nodded, his eyes locked on Marcus. "I agree. But we need to be smart about it. We can't take on the crime lord alone."

Sarah spoke up, her voice filled with determination. "I can help. I have connections with the FBI. We can get their help to take down the crime lord."

Just as they were discussing the details, a loud crash echoed from outside. The sound sent a chill down Julian's spine.

"What was that?" Sarah asked, her brow furrowed.

Marcus immediately went on high alert. "I'll check it out."

Julian followed Marcus to the window, his heart racing. They cautiously approached the broken glass and peered outside.

A figure was fleeing into the darkness, but Julian caught a glimpse of something that made his blood run cold.

A tattoo on the figure's hand - the same tattoo worn by the crime lord's men.

Julian's eyes locked onto the tattoo, his mind racing with the implications. "It's them," he whispered to Marcus. "The crime lord's men."

Marcus's expression turned grim. "We need to get out of here, now."

Sarah appeared beside them, her eyes wide with fear. "What's happening?"

Julian quickly filled her in. "The crime lord's men are here. We have to leave."

Without hesitation, the three of them quickly gathered their belongings and made a hasty exit out the back door.

As they emerged into the night air, Julian's phone rang, shrill in the silence.

He hesitated for a moment before answering. "Hello?"

A menacing voice spoke on the other end. "Julian, you're running out of time."

Julian's grip on the phone tightened. "Who is this?"

The voice laughed. "You'll find out soon enough."

The line went dead.

Julian's eyes met Marcus's and Sarah's. They knew they had to keep moving.
