Chapter 2

 Years later, thonia was in her second year in the university. so she came back to Nigeria for vacation just to see her parents and her brother also.

Thoe when she was in the us, she stayed in her dad's house in us. With a lady that was taking care of her.

As she came back, she found out that her parents were planning to send Alex to New York to further his education in Oxford University.and she was so happy for Alex.

So their parents travled to New York.thoe their mother wet to New York too because she was going on a business trip there.and they left thonia and Alex in the hands of their child-minder name Rosy.

Weeks later, they were preparing to return back to Nigeria after they had finished the process.so they called thonia and Alex and informed them that they would both be returning back to Nigeria the following day being Saturday. Thonia and Alex was so happy most especially Alex.

The next day,the house keeper decided to tidy up the whole house, and thonia decided to prepare some delicious meal that she learned in the us for her parents.and the dinning was beautifully decorated that evening.

So they both waited patiently for their parents to arrive.

So they both went to the sitting room and were watching a teenage program acted in China.

Then Alex looked at the wall clock and saw that the time was 6pm. So he became so worried.and thonia noticed the look on his face

 "Hey Alex what's the problem,why are you looking so border", she asked.

 "Why is mom and dad not yet back,I though they are supposed to be home by now",he asked.

 "Come on Alex, don't worry they will soon arrive. And besides maybe the plane didn't take off on time",she replied.

 "Okay I hope so", said Alex.

So they continue watching the movi

Time moved fast, and hours slipped away. The Time was 7:35pm. Alex became so restless.even thonia too became so worried and wondered what was holding their parents from returning home.

The clock made an alarm.they both looked at the wall clock and saw that it was 8pm. So they became so scared and couldn't bear it anymore.

Thonia grabbed her phone and dialed her father's number but it didn't connect.so their heart beat increased.

Suddenly the Rosy came down stairs.

 "What's going on,I have been trying your parents number but it's seems not to Connect, apart from your mother's own which was ringing but she's not picking up", said the Rosy.

Then thonia Walked close to Alex and held his hand tight.

 "Don't worry mum and dad is fine", she said to him.

So she dialed her mother's number, but it seems to connect but no one was responding.

 "Come on mummy pick up please don't do this to us", she said.

But still, nobody seems to respond.so she looked at Alex and saw that his eyes brimmed with tears, as tears roll down his cheek.

 "Stop it Alex you are making me cry too.mum and dad would come back", thonia said.

So they both began to paced up and down including Rosy.

So they were thinking of what to do.then thonia clutched the TV remote on top of the glass table and turned to the BBC WORLD NEWS. She want to listen to the evening news.

She found it hard to settle down and listen to the news.the reporter came up and announced an air plane crash.

 " There was a terrible air crash this afternoon at about 3pm. During the investigation,we found out that the airplane seems to be a private one. this air crash took the lives of a couples in the plane. And also the pilot too was found dead.

Moreover, they found out that the plane was heading to Nigeria.

Fear grabbed them as they listen to the news, and they all began to sweat.

Thought began to run down their minds.so Alex redialed his father's number but it wasn't connecting.he tried that of his mother and it connected but she wasn't picking up.

Their fear was confirmed when the reporter began to display on the TV some of the captured pictures of the plane crash.

Immediately their heart beat in palpitation when their parents was shown lying on the ground. meanwhile their body was covered with black cloth apart from their head.

 "Oh my God!!", screamed Rosy.

Immediately thonia fainted.

Alex couldn't catch up with what he saw,so he began to boggle.

 "Calm down Alex,I know how you feel", said Rosy as she was trying to help get thonia up.

Then Alex fainted too and his head handed direct to the glass table and immediately he began to bleed from his head.

 "Help!!, somebody help!", screamed Rosy.

So immediately, the driver and the security guard came into the house and was surprised to see Alex and thonia on the ground and Alex lying in a pool of blood.

Without asking questions, they hurried and took both of them to the hospital that night. Meanwhile, the time was 10pm.
