On our wedding anniversary, my husband brought Pure Love home for a date.
The two of them were intimate until late at night, causing Pure Love to catch a cold. However, my husband took out his anger on me.
He locked me in the refrigerator after I had been freezing on the balcony all night, just to make her feel better.
I was locked up for three whole days, and after death my soul floated out of my body.
I saw Pure Love put my corpse into boiling water with her own hands until it was rotted and deformed, unrecognizable. Then she had people from the crematorium take me to an abandoned factory.
But when my husband saw my miserable state, he called Pure Love to tell her to be careful.
A colleague reminded him not to forget about me.
He sneered, "Aria is delicate, it's right that I care about her. As for Melody, she's tough as nails, she won't die."
But he didn't know that the highly decomposed body in front of him was me.
And he, a top embalmer, couldn't even recognize my face.

I was sent to the crematorium by Elias's pure love.
Before sending me in, she looked at my corpse with a twisted expression, "Melody, since you liked Elias so much, I'll let him give you your final send-off."
So, after my death, I saw Elias for the first time.
He frowned at my corpse, then took out his phone to call Aria and instruct her.
"Aria, I've received a highly decomposed body here, so I'll need to come back later. Also, with the recent spike in homicides, make sure you lock all the doors and windows, and don't go out at night."
His tone was gentle and doting.
But unfortunately, in five years of marriage, I had never experienced that.
On the other end of the line, Aria responded shyly.
"Then come back early, I'll be worried about you."
They exchanged a few more words, and before hanging up, Aria said suggestively, "Elias, you'll make sure today's client is sent off beautifully, right?"
There was a hidden meaning in her words, but sadly, Elias didn't catch on.
After all, in his heart, Aria was a delicate flower that needed protection.
But it was this delicate flower who, after my death, placed my body in scalding hot water until I was unrecognizable, only then feeling safe enough to send me here.Seven days ago marked the fifth anniversary of Elias and me.
I prepared a candlelit dinner at home, waiting for Elias to return, only to end up witnessing him arrive with Aria in tow.
Seeing my downcast mood, he impatiently chided, "Aria just got back from abroad and has no one to rely on, that's why I brought her here. Can't you be a little more gracious?"
But wasn't she alone overseas as well?
Before I could voice my thoughts, Elias shoved me onto the balcony, probably to prevent me from disturbing them, and locked the door from the inside.
The candlelit dinner I had prepared became their grand feast of reunion.
I was left locked out on the balcony, freezing through the night.
Yet the next day, Aria claimed she had caught a cold.
Elias, in a rare display of anger towards me, directly threatened my life this time.
While I was arguing with Elias, Aria pressed her chest against his arm to mediate, "Elias, I'm sure Melody didn't mean it. It's all because I'm too delicate."
Furious at Aria's behavior, I pointed at the door and told her to get out.
Elias, however, flew into a rage. He grabbed me by the hair and dragged me to the refrigerator, violently shoving me inside. The light faded, and the last words I heard him say were, "Melody, you're worthless trash. Cool off in there for a while."
I struggled inside, thrashing and banging, but the refrigerator door couldn't be opened from the inside. I begged and pleaded, scratching my fingers bloody, but Elias still didn't let me out.
I died from suffocation and cold, then Aria soaked my body in scalding hot water after I was dead, leaving me completely disfigured.
It wasn't until today that she finally sent me to the crematorium.
After Elias got off the phone with Aria, his colleague Chase teased, "Elias, you care so much about your first love. Does the missus not mind?"
As Elias walked towards my corpse, he said, "Aria's health is delicate, so of course I should care about her. As for Melody, she's worthless trash. She won't die so easily."
When he said this, I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
I wonder how Elias will feel when he realizes that the one lying in front of him right now is the very person he thinks won't die so easily.
All I know is that I feel heartbroken.
I loved Elias for so many years, yet in his heart, I still can't compare to a single word from Aria.
