Chapter 8 Permanent Mechanic

The remark teasing Zhang Wu was just an innocuous joke.

But after the joke, Su Yu seriously got down to business.

His gaze swept over Yang Lie and the equipment of the core combatants like Zhang Wu, and his eyes narrowed slightly.

Now, Su Yu's Mechanic level had already reached lv5.

This level of skill at Shelter No. 73 might not be in the top three, but definitely in the top five.

With his relatively professional eye, he could easily see that although Yang Lie's equipment seemed well-maintained, they all had quite a few minor issues.

One or two battles might not be a problem.

But if delayed much longer, the whole set of equipment might need to go back for major repairs.

This was the downside of not having a Mechanic.

There's no denying that Yang Lie's charisma was very high.

But it was also because of his idealistic kindness and generosity on the wasteland.

That Yang Lie's Team's ranking never improved.

A significant portion of the resources that could be used to enhance the combat power of Yang Lie's Team were used to aid the old team members who had to leave the team due to injuries.

But this was not without benefits.

Compared to the internal conflicts and disputes that frequently occurred with other hunting teams in the Sanctuary.

The unity of Yang Lie's Team was also well-known.

But relying solely on unity, clearly wasn't enough to pay any Mechanic in the Sanctuary, except Su Yu's mentor, to be willing to become the team's Permanent Mechanic.

However, now Su Yu had grown up.

As someone who also benefited from Yang Lie's character, allowing him to come to the Sanctuary and survive successfully back then.

Su Yu believed that he couldn't achieve Yang Lie's level of benevolence in the ruins but it didn't prevent him from admiring and wanting to help this generous uncle as much as he could.

"Uncle Yang Lie, your next hunt should be in seven days, right? Could you extend this time by three more days?"

Su Yu rubbed his face, took a deep breath, and said with a smile.

"Extend by three more days? Su, do you have some ideas?"

Yang Lie was first taken aback by Su Yu's question and then seemed to realize something, his eyes lit up!

And the rest, like Zhang Wu and the other core combatants, also widened their eyes with anticipation.

Seeing their eager looks, Su Yu nodded and smiled, saying, "I have some ideas. Don't rush to leave later, Uncle Yang and Brother Zhang Wu. I want to measure your height and weight and see if I can help repair and improve your equipment during this time."

"Hoo..."

Hearing Su Yu's affirmative response.

Yang Lie and the others visibly perked up!

Custom-made equipment!

This was definitely a luxury for the hunting teams and adventurers on the ruins, but something that could greatly enhance their wasteland survival ability!

And for Yang Lie's Team, since Su Yu's mentor passed away, upgrading and improving their Exclusive Equipment, let alone daily maintenance, was hard to keep up with!

"That's great, we'll wait three more days then!"

...

An hour later.

After sending off the eagerly hopeful members of Yang Lie's Team, Su Yu's gaze returned to his repair shop.

He had not only measured the team members' data but also kept their old equipment.

The idea of crafting Exclusive Equipment wasn't solely to repay Yang Lie's Team for their trust.

Su Yu also had his own personal motives.

The two boxes of discarded machinery that Uncle Yang Lie sent, though numerous, were overall low grade, with hardly any Basic Mechanical Creations.

Even if they were all repaired, the experience he would gain might not be enough to raise his Profession Level again.

But the Exclusive Equipment allocated to the core combatants of Yang Lie's Team were at least of a Basic level.

Some even had Intermediate Equipment.

Without even talking about improvements or upgrades.

Simple maintenance, repair, and upkeep of these would yield more experience than Su Yu could gain from repairing ten or so pieces from those two boxes of junk mechanical creations.

"Next up, it's time to officially get to work! Nuonuo, come give me a hand!"

Su Yu rubbed his hands in anticipation, looking at the equipment and weapons laid out in front of him, and called Nuonuo over.

But just then, from outside the door of the repair shop, came a voice, unfamiliar, yet not exactly friendly.

"Brother Su, your skills have been advancing swiftly these days!"

"Any experience you'd like to share with me?"

Su Yu looked up to see a bald young man in a leather jacket, with somewhat oily jeans underneath, giving off a rough vibe.

But his rosy cheeks and strong voice made Su Yu not underestimate him one bit.

In this world, even the residents of the Sanctuary, below seventy percent, barely struggled above the subsistence line.

If it weren't for awakening his Profession Panel, allowing him to enhance his physique with each upgrade, Su Yu's body would have been on the fragile and weak side.

A healthy body like this bald youth's was already a symbol of status and position.

"We don't know each other, right? Is there anything you need repaired, sir?"

"Repair needs? Yes, indeed, I have a repair need."

The bald youth smiled slightly, walked into the repair shop, and arrogantly leaned over the counter where Su Yu's equipment was stacked, leaning his upper body on it, looking down at Su Yu, sitting behind his counter and workbench: "My name is Li Yao, you must have heard this name. I heard my brother mention you, saying you've taken on a lot of management office tasks these days and done a great job. They even praised your efficiency improved when you were sick and told me to learn from you more."

Li Yao said, raising his head slightly, looking at Su Yu: "So, I came over, bringing my brother's invitation. If you nod, starting tonight, you will be the third Permanent Mechanic of the Night Slayer Team, apart from me and Old Mo."

"Li Yao, Night Slayer Team?"

Hearing these two names.

Su Yu's eyes revealed a trace of realization, and he looked at Li Yao in front of him with more seriousness!

Su Yu had already heard from the management office and Yang Lie about the recent expansion of the Night Slayer Team.

With the expansion of hunting numbers, the demand for Mechanics by the Night Slayer Team naturally increased, and Old Mo was a Mechanic coerced into joining by Night Slayer.

Su Yu knew that his skill and reputation spread within the Sanctuary might attract Night Slayer's attention, but Su Yu didn't expect this day to come so quickly.

"Joining Night Slayer isn't a good thing..." Su Yu thought to himself.

Night Slayer Team was the third-ranked hunting team in the Sanctuary.

With over fifty members and more than thirty Permanent Combatants, half of whom were Transcendents, they were far superior to Yang Lie's Team in both numbers and quality!

It's worth noting that Yang Lie's Team, including support staff, has fewer than twenty members!

Moreover, as the captain of the Night Slayer Team, Li He himself was a Spirit-type Transcendent with a Spiritual Level reaching the peak of three stars.

The strength of Spirit-type Transcendents far exceeded that of physical Transcendents, and the strength of Li He at three-star peak was equivalent to a four-star intermediate physical Transcendent.

And Yang Lie's Team only had Yang Lie, Zhang Wu, Li Yue, this triad as Transcendents, and their Spiritual Level was only one star each!
