014 The Training Plan Formulated by Qin Yun
With only four days remaining before the Six-School Joint Examination, Qin Yun knew he couldn't afford to be careless.
Unlike Luo Qing, who had been an easy opponent, he was well aware that not everyone would be as easily defeated. Although most of the wealthiest and most talented trainers in Jiang Cheng had flocked to No. 1 Middle School, there were still formidable opponents in No. 6 High School.
One of them was Serena.
That's right his classmate Serena. Qin Yun knew her background wasn't simple. While she wasn't particularly passionate about Pokémon battles, her expertise in Pokémon Contests made her a serious contender. People often underestimated Coordinators, but in truth, they possessed impeccable command over their Pokémon's precision and techniques. If someone looked down on Serena just because she specialized in Contests, they would regret it.
Aside from Serena, Qin Yun was sure that others had access to rare and powerful Pokémon. If he wanted to secure first place, his current strength alone wasn't enough he needed to push himself even harder.
"No room for slacking."
Qin Yun clenched his fists, his determination burning even brighter.
At that moment, a familiar voice called out.
"Qin Yun."
He turned around and saw Serena jogging toward him, her face slightly flushed.
"Serena?"
Serena held out a small lunchbox, her eyes shifting nervously.
"This is a soufflé I made for you. It tastes good! If you get hungry on the road, you can eat it."
Before Qin Yun could respond, Serena turned and ran off, her voice drifting back.
"Be careful out there!"
Qin Yun watched her disappear, then glanced down at the lunchbox. A smirk played on his lips.
"Not bad, my charm is still working."
But romance wasn't on his mind. Right now, women would only slow down his progress. He had no time for distractions, especially with the threat looming over Hoenn. The Lava Team and Team Aqua those lunatics were still lurking, both sides scheming to awaken Groudon and Kyogre.
"Two truly insane organizations."
This world wasn't as peaceful as it seemed. The wilderness was dangerous not just because of wild Pokémon but because of humans. Every year, numerous trainers lost their lives in the wild, either to rogue Pokémon or to those who preyed on the weak.
With that in mind, Qin Yun set out once more to the outskirts of Jiang Cheng. His goal: catch at least one more Pokémon and refine his mastery of the Navy Six Styles, specifically Shave and Finger Spear.
Yes, these were techniques from One Piece, but they were feasible with proper training.
Shave (Soru): Repeatedly stomping the ground ten times in an instant to generate explosive speed.
Finger Spear (Shigan): Condensing all the energy into a single fingertip, hardening it like a bullet and striking with enough force to pierce human flesh.
Mastering these techniques wasn't impossible it was simply about refining body mechanics.
Beyond his own growth, Qin Yun had also studied Pokémon extensively, contemplating ways to incorporate the Navy Six Styles into their battle strategies. After all, Pokémon moves weren't static. In the early days, new moves had emerged constantly, and even now, techniques could still evolve. The Pokémon world was ever-changing, with new discoveries and improvements pushing trainers to innovate.
"Ralts, let's do our best today."
"Lalu!"
Ralts, holding an energy cube, chirped excitedly, ready for training.
Their training regimen focused on speed and special attack, since Ralts primarily relied on Teleport to maneuver in battle. However, Teleport wasn't an instant reaction it required activation time, making it predictable. Instead of depending entirely on Teleport, boosting Ralts' natural speed would give it more flexibility in combat.
"Ralts, focus energy into your fingers and release it."
"Lalu!"
Previously, Ralts had only managed to generate a weak energy spark. But today, it improved significantly managing to release a concentrated blast that shot three meters forward, displacing the air.
"Great job!"
Training Pokémon was a tedious, repetitive process, requiring patience and consistency. The sun dipped below the horizon, but Qin Yun and Ralts continued their exercises in the forest.
"One last obstacle course, Ralts. I believe in you."
Despite exhaustion creeping in, Ralts pushed forward with newfound determination.
"You did it!"
Qin Yun picked up the tired Ralts, his eyes filled with affection.
"Let's head to the Pokémon Center for a Scald Bath later."
At the mention of a bath, Ralts blushed, wiggling in excitement.
"What a shy little thing."
Since their training ground wasn't far from the Jiang Cheng Pokémon Center, it only took about ten minutes to get there. Going into the wild for several days meant that recovering in a Pokémon Center was crucial wild training had risks, and unnecessary injuries could be avoided with proper care.
"Qin Yun, you're here!"
The nurse on duty recognized him immediately, greeting him warmly.
After booking a room, he took Ralts for a Scald Bath before handing it over for proper recovery.
The Next Morning
Refreshed and well-rested, Qin Yun resumed his training.
This time, he ventured deeper into the wild, hoping to encounter a Pokémon with high potential.
While many Pokémon found in the wild were common species, there were always hidden gems Pokémon that had been overlooked due to their rarity or unassuming appearances. Unlike others, Qin Yun had an edge his system allowed him to directly analyze Pokémon potential without relying on lengthy observation or scientific testing.
Ralts sat on Qin Yun's shoulder, kicking its little feet playfully, clearly in high spirits.
For Ralts, just being with Qin Yun was the greatest joy.
"Ralts, let's play a little game."
"Lalu?"
Ralts perked up at the mention of a game.
"We'll race to that tree ahead. But no using Teleport unfairly."
Ralts nodded seriously, then… teleported anyway.
"Ralts, you little cheat!"
"Lalu Lalu!"
Ralts stuck out its tongue mischievously, giggling at Qin Yun's exasperation.
Even so, Qin Yun won. Ralts, too pure-hearted to anticipate tricks, had been easily outmaneuvered. Now, it sat sulking with its arms crossed.
But the moment Qin Yun pulled out an energy cube, Ralts' pout disappeared, replaced by an eager grin.
"Just like a child."
