Chapter 9

That day after I left, I filed a lawsuit with my lawyer.

The court needed to gather information, and the hearing was scheduled for a month later.

I also moved out of the Stratton family mansion.

I had been a housewife for eight years, intimately familiar with every inch of that home.

But when it came time to actually leave, I found I had no real attachment.

I suppose when you've truly let go in your heart, leaving becomes such a simple thing.

If I had figured this out sooner, I should have left six years ago.

I didn't have much to pack, just taking my father's keepsakes with me.

Everything else was bought for me by Damien, so I left it all in the mansion.

Whether he wanted to throw it away or whatever, it was up to him.

I left decisively, so it didn't take much time.

But after I had already gone far, I received a call from Damien.

"You moved out?"

I was surprised he even noticed.

After all, the only thing I took was the wedding gift my father had given us.
