The Beast Heart

Although Li Zhi had been kicked away by the ferocious Savage Wolf King and lost consciousness, officially withdrawing from the battle, the fight was far from over.

At this moment, Ye Qiang remained leisurely perched on the dark tree, his deep eyes never leaving the massive Savage Wolf King. He was waiting for the right opportunity. If he were to engage the huge beast head-on, Ye Qiang knew the pressure would be overwhelming, with no chance of victory.

After all, the Savage Wolf King's cultivation was at least one level higher than his, and most importantly, it had gained intelligence—it was a beast with human-like wisdom.

This was no ordinary beast. Unlike other low-intelligence creatures that would fight even when outmatched, the Savage Wolf King would retreat if it wasn't confident in defeating its opponent.

After kicking Li Zhi away, the Savage Wolf King was now facing four deadly swords aimed at its body. If struck, it would lose its combat ability once again and, like last time, would flee, only to be hunted down by the weaker humans.

But the Savage Wolf King was different from ordinary beasts. It had intelligence, making it a high-level magical creature.

As the four swords flew toward it, the Savage Wolf King moved with surprising agility. In a split second, it spun its massive body and effortlessly dodged the fatal strike.

The four youths had launched their attack with a combined force of 40 tons—enough to severely injure a cultivator at the fourth stage of the Bronze rank, and absolutely lethal for someone at the third stage. Yet, the Savage Wolf King, with its superior physical constitution, managed to evade the attack. Even if it were struck, the worst it would suffer was severe injury.

The four youths were stunned, their eyes wide in disbelief. Seeing their leader, Li Zhi, unconscious on the ground and their joint attack failing, they froze in place, unsure of what to do next.

At this moment, the Savage Wolf King, now fully prepared, charged toward them with immense force. It was as if a moving mountain was bearing down on them, bringing an overwhelming sense of impending defeat.

Instinctively, the youths turned and retreated several steps, narrowly avoiding the deadly impact. But one of them, a short-haired youth, was too slow to react. He was hit and sent flying over a hundred steps, crashing into a large rock. He collapsed to the ground, weak and barely breathing.

The impact had been over 20 tons of force, far beyond what the young man's body could endure. His bones were shattered, and he was as good as dead.

The remaining three youths, now demoralized and lacking the will to fight, had no intention of continuing the battle.

Just as the Savage Wolf King was preparing for another attack, Ye Qiang seized the moment. He leaped from the tree, gripping his sword with both hands, and with all his strength, struck. Before the Savage Wolf King could react, Ye Qiang plunged the blade into its back. He then landed on its massive back, gripping the sword that had pierced deep into the creature.

This strike was a carefully calculated move, a perfect opportunity where Ye Qiang applied his current maximum strength of over ten tons for a fatal blow.

Although the Savage Wolf King was powerful and tough as stone, Ye Qiang's strike pierced its back, driving the blade straight to its heart. The beast fell to the ground, its heart fatally damaged, and it collapsed, gasping for breath.

After confirming the Savage Wolf King was dead, Ye Qiang quickly gutted the beast and retrieved its massive heart—about the size of a human head, glowing brightly. He wrapped it in a black cloth and secured it at his waist.

While Li Zhi and the others were still stunned by what had just happened, Ye Qiang quickly vanished from their sight with a few swift steps.

The group remained frozen in their astonishment, likely thinking to themselves, We fought so hard, paid such a heavy price, and still couldn't even scratch the Savage Wolf King. And now this guy, who we once bullied, just killed it with a single strike? This doesn't make sense!

After the Savage Wolf King was slain, Ye Qiang left the group behind.

In the central area of the Black Mountain Range, all the wild beasts and magical creatures suddenly went into a frenzy, as if they had been prearranged. They rushed toward the enormous carcass of the Savage Wolf King.

The first to arrive were the pack of bronze wolves. With an exceptional sense of smell, they gathered as soon as the Savage Wolf King's blood hit the ground, preparing to take advantage of the situation.

Other magical beasts, upon seeing the glowing beast heart, swarmed toward it like a mass of ants, rushing toward the radiating light.

Just as Ye Qiang had suspected, these creatures were all drawn to the Savage Wolf King's heart. If the heart fell into the hands of any of these beasts, Ye Qiang thought, it could allow that creature to immediately level up and gain intelligence, becoming as formidable as the Savage Wolf King.

He chuckled to himself.

After dispatching several beasts that had attacked him, Ye Qiang retreated into a hidden cave. There were simply too many creatures outside, and it was impossible for him to fight his way through them alone and escape the forest.

Given his wisdom, the moment Ye Qiang discovered the cave, he dove into it without hesitation.

In the darkness of the cave, the beasts chasing after the heart of the Savage Wolf King did not follow him in. Ye Qiang's tense body finally relaxed. The cave wasn't as large as the Savage Wolf King's den, but it could still accommodate thousands of people.

The cave was filled with small stones and black dirt, with a damp floor that made it unsuitable for long-term habitation.

Because the cave was so dark and visibility was poor, Ye Qiang had no choice but to take out the fire stone from his waist. He gently blew on it, creating a flame to light up the cave.

As the cave lit up, a glinting sword was suddenly pressed against Ye Qiang's neck.

A soft, sweet voice of a woman reached his ears: "Don't move! Or my sword will slit your throat…"

The person holding the sword was a woman, standing about the same height as Ye Qiang. She had long, flowing blue hair, a beautiful face with sparkling eyes, and a body that exuded irresistible charm.

Ye Qiang was momentarily stunned, completely captivated by her.

In the presence of a beautiful woman, Ye Qiang's resistance was incredibly weak.
