The next morning, Ji-Ah acted completely normal.
Too normal.
She hummed as she made coffee, scrolling through her phone like she didn't have a single care in the world.
Evelyn sat at the dining table, arms crossed, watching her.
Ji-Ah wasn't fooling her.
She had felt the shift last night, the way things changed between them. But now Ji-Ah was pretending nothing had happened.
Fine. If that's how she wanted to play it.
Evelyn leaned back in her chair. "So, you and Sun-Woo, huh?"
Ji-Ah didn't even look up. "What about it?"
Evelyn smirked. "Seemed pretty cozy last night."
Ji-Ah finally glanced at her, raising an eyebrow. "Why? Jealous?"
Evelyn scoffed. "Please."
Ji-Ah took a slow sip of her coffee. "Then why are you bringing it up?"
Evelyn clenched her jaw. Ji-Ah was enjoying this too much.
Ji-Ah smiled slightly. "Relax, Evelyn. It was just a friendly conversation."
Evelyn narrowed her eyes. "Right."
Ji-Ah gave her an innocent look. "Unless, of course… you were jealous?"
Evelyn rolled her eyes and stood up. "Forget it."
She turned to leave, but Ji-Ah's voice stopped her.
"Evelyn."
She hesitated.
Ji-Ah's voice was softer now, almost hesitant. "You… weren't actually upset, were you?"
Evelyn turned back, meeting Ji-Ah's gaze.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Evelyn smirked, masking whatever she was feeling. "What do you think?"
Ji-Ah studied her, like she was trying to find the truth beneath Evelyn's words.
But before she could say anything else, Evelyn turned and walked away.
Because if Ji-Ah kept looking at her like that…
She might just admit the truth.
