Ji-Ah barely had time to recover from dinner when Evelyn struck again.
As they sat in Evelyn's car, the city lights casting a soft glow around them, Evelyn turned to Ji-Ah with that all-too-familiar I have something up my sleeve look.
"So," Evelyn began, casually drumming her fingers on the steering wheel. "Since my parents are already waiting eagerly for our wedding, I assume you've spoken to yours about planning it too?"
Ji-Ah sighed, rubbing her temples. "Evelyn, we just had dinner with my parents. We just talked about this. My parents think we should wait for the right time."
Evelyn's brows shot up. "Wait? Why?"
Ji-Ah rolled her eyes. "Because they're not in a rush to throw me into a wedding frenzy?"
Evelyn scoffed. "That's ridiculous."
Ji-Ah shot her a look. "No, it's reasonable."
Evelyn leaned back in her seat, deep in thought. Then, with a smirk, she said, "Alright. I'll postpone talking to my parents… but on one condition."
Ji-Ah narrowed her eyes. "What condition?"
Evelyn leaned in slightly, voice dropping to a teasing whisper. "If you let me do whatever I want with you, I won't push the wedding plans. For now."
Ji-Ah froze. Her brain short-circuited for a second. "Excuse me?"
Evelyn shrugged, completely unbothered. "You heard me. No restrictions, no complaints. If I want to kiss you, hold you, steal you away for the night—you won't deny me."
Ji-Ah blinked. "You're negotiating with me?"
Evelyn grinned. "Of course. You said you want more time? Fine. But I want something in return."
Ji-Ah crossed her arms. "You do realize how ridiculous that sounds, right?"
Evelyn only smirked. "So, deal?"
Ji-Ah let out a long sigh, staring at Evelyn, who looked way too satisfied with herself. "Fine. But don't push your luck."
Evelyn's smirk widened as she reached over, pulling Ji-Ah closer. "Oh, sweetheart, I always push my luck."
Ji-Ah had a feeling she had just walked into another one of Evelyn's traps.
