Chapter 61: Giving In

Ji-Ah stepped out of the shower, towel wrapped around her as she ran a hand through her damp hair. She had hoped the hot water would clear her mind, but it didn't. Evelyn's words still echoed in her head.

She sighed, pushing open the bathroom door, only to find Evelyn lying across their bed, scrolling through her phone like she didn't have a care in the world.

Evelyn looked up, her gaze slowly dragging over Ji-Ah. A smirk played on her lips. "Took your time."

Ji-Ah ignored the way her skin heated under that look. "Go to sleep, Evelyn."

Evelyn patted the empty space beside her. "Come here first."

Ji-Ah narrowed her eyes. "Why?"

Evelyn grinned. "Because I said so."

Ji-Ah huffed but walked over, sitting at the edge of the bed. "Happy now?"

Evelyn set her phone aside, reaching out to tug Ji-Ah's wrist. "Not yet."

Ji-Ah let out a small yelp as Evelyn pulled her down until she was lying beside her. "Evelyn—"

Evelyn silenced her by slipping an arm around her waist, holding her close. "You agreed, remember?" she murmured, lips brushing against Ji-Ah's ear.

Ji-Ah swallowed, trying not to react. "I didn't agree to this exactly."

Evelyn chuckled, fingers tracing slow, lazy circles against her back. "You never said no either."

Ji-Ah bit her lip, hating how easily Evelyn affected her.

She sighed but didn't pull away. Not when Evelyn's warmth was so inviting. Not when her touch sent tiny shivers down her spine.

Maybe, just this once, she'd let Evelyn win.
