Chapter 72: Just Let Me Shower!

Ji-Ah sighed in relief as the warm water ran down her skin. After an entire day of exploring, eating, and walking around, this was exactly what she needed. Finally, some peace and quiet.

Or so she thought.

"Ji-Ah~," Evelyn's teasing voice came from the other side of the bathroom door.

Ji-Ah rolled her eyes. "Go away, Evelyn."

"Why so cold? I miss you already."

"You just saw me literally a minute ago," Ji-Ah deadpanned, rinsing the soap from her hair.

Evelyn chuckled. "That's still too long."

Ji-Ah sighed, ignoring her.

A few seconds later, she heard a soft knock.

"Babe~."

Ji-Ah groaned. "No."

Evelyn hummed. "I didn't even say anything yet."

"I already know what you're about to say, and the answer is still no."

Evelyn clicked her tongue. "You're always like this."

Ji-Ah rolled her eyes. "Then go entertain yourself. You said you weren't tired, right? Go do push-ups or something."

Evelyn laughed. "Why would I do push-ups when I have a much better way to stay active?"

Ji-Ah nearly slipped. "Evelyn!"

"I'm just saying," Evelyn continued, sounding completely unbothered. "It's been a long day, we should relax together."

Ji-Ah rubbed her temples. "You're not getting in the shower with me."

A dramatic sigh. "Fine. But don't take too long. I need you."

Ji-Ah rolled her eyes. "Go to sleep, Evelyn."

Evelyn chuckled. "Not without you."

Ji-Ah didn't bother replying. She quickly finished her shower, dried off, and put on her nightwear before stepping out—only to find Evelyn lying on the bed, arms folded behind her head, smirking.

"Took you long enough."

Ji-Ah raised an eyebrow. "You didn't move the entire time, did you?"

Evelyn patted the empty space beside her. "Come here."

Ji-Ah narrowed her eyes. "I know that look, Evelyn."

Evelyn grinned. "What look?"

"The one that says you're up to something." Ji-Ah crossed her arms. "I'm tired. You better behave."

Evelyn chuckled, grabbing Ji-Ah's wrist and pulling her down onto the bed. "No promises."

Ji-Ah sighed as Evelyn wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Now that you're done, it's your turn," Ji-Ah mumbled, resting her head on the pillow.

Evelyn smirked. "I think I'll just stay like this."

Ji-Ah turned her head to glare at her. "No way. You've been out all day, go take a shower."

Evelyn pouted. "But I like holding you."

Ji-Ah pushed at her shoulder. "Shower first, then you can hold me."

Evelyn groaned dramatically. "Ugh, fine. But don't fall asleep without me."

"No promises," Ji-Ah shot back with a smirk.

Evelyn huffed but got up, grabbing her things. Before she walked into the bathroom, she pointed at Ji-Ah. "You better be awake when I'm back."

Ji-Ah yawned, already curling up under the blanket. "Hurry up, and maybe I will be."

Evelyn rolled her eyes before stepping into the bathroom.

Ji-Ah smiled to herself. Finally, some peace.
