Just as Ji-Ah reached for the door, it suddenly opened.
Evelyn stood there, slightly out of breath, her eyes searching Ji-Ah's face.
Ji-Ah froze for a second, then tears welled up in her eyes. "Where were you? Why didn't you answer my calls?" Her voice shook with a mix of relief and anger.
Evelyn didn't say a word. She just pulled Ji-Ah into a tight hug.
Ji-Ah gasped, trying to push her away, her fists weakly hitting Evelyn's shoulders. "Let me go! I was so worried! Do you know how scared I was?!"
Evelyn held her tighter, resting her chin on Ji-Ah's shoulder. "I'm sorry," she whispered, voice barely audible.
Hye-Jin and Seo-Jun watched for a moment, then exchanged a glance. Their worry faded as they saw Evelyn safe.
Hye-Jin smiled softly. "We'll talk later. You two need to sort this out."
Seo-Jun nodded. "We're leaving now. Don't fight too much."
With that, they stepped out, closing the door behind them.
Ji-Ah was still in Evelyn's arms, her heart pounding. She wanted to stay mad, but the warmth of Evelyn's embrace made it hard.
She took a shaky breath. "You… better have a good reason for this."
