Chapter 84: I deserve this

Evelyn sighed as she let go of Ji-Ah and walked over to the sofa, sinking into it. She ran a hand through her hair, looking exhausted.

Ji-Ah followed, standing in front of her. "Where were you?" she asked again. "Why didn't you answer my calls?"

Evelyn closed her eyes for a moment. "Can we talk about this later? I'm really tired."

But Ji-Ah wasn't having it. "No, Evelyn! I was scared! Just tell me—"

Evelyn groaned, frustration finally snapping through. "Can you please stop for fucking sake?! I told you we'll talk later! Let me breathe! I'm tired!"

Ji-Ah's eyes widened. Hurt flashed across her face before she grabbed a cushion and threw it right at Evelyn's face. "Fine!" she snapped, storming off to the bedroom. She slammed the door shut and locked it.

Evelyn sighed again, rubbing her face.

An hour passed. Neither of them made a move. The silence in the apartment was heavy.

Was it Evelyn's fault? Yes.

It was already noon, and hunger was starting to kick in. Ji-Ah finally opened the door, ignoring Evelyn as she went straight to the kitchen. She started looking for something to eat, still fuming inside.

Evelyn, on the other hand, finally got up and went to take a shower. After freshening up, she walked into the kitchen, expecting something to eat.

But the counter was empty. No food. No breakfast. Nothing.

Evelyn frowned. "Where's my breakfast?" she asked. "Or at least cook something—I'm hungry."

Ji-Ah didn't even look at her. She just continued eating her food in silence.

Evelyn sighed. Yeah, I deserve this.
