Perhaps out of a "broken pot falls harder" mentality, the Plane Consciousness no longer backed down and glared back at Ye Wen.

"Why are you being so harsh?! Haven't I already apologized?!"

This response left Ye Wen somewhat at a loss.

They were in the middle of a serious confrontation—what was with this tone? Was she acting like a sulking little wife? Ye Wen couldn't help but think it was strange.

At this moment, the Snow Empress closed her eyes, her chest—bearing the weight of abundant fruit—rising and falling heavily as if to steady her emotions.

Finally, the Snow Empress regained her composure, her icy aura reemerging.

"Let me explain."

Ye Wen could clearly sense the difference between the Snow Empress now and before. It seemed that the true master had taken control of this body.

The atmosphere became much more solemn, and Ye Wen began to listen attentively as the Snow Empress recounted her experiences over the years.

After Ye Wen had ascended to the god realm, the Snow Empress had quietly returned to her domain in the Far North Ice Plains, managing her territory as usual.

Everything had been normal until Ye Wen destroyed the old god realm and returned. That's when everything changed.

For the first time since her birth, the Snow Empress had clearly sensed the world consciousness of Douluo Star.

As the only naturally occurring intelligent life on Douluo Star, the Snow Empress's compatibility with the world consciousness could be described as nearly 100%.

After Ye Wen's return, the world consciousness finally recovered.

"I never expected the world consciousness to fear your return, Master. Your strength far exceeded its expectations from before it fell into slumber. You've become powerful enough to pose a threat to the world consciousness itself. Thus, instead of immediately reconnecting with you, it chose to hide within me."

Hearing this, Ye Wen began to understand.

The space where the world consciousness resided was similar to the rule-based world, but it wasn't something ordinary gods could enter. However, Ye Wen now possessed the ability to freely move in and out of that space.

In fact, during those hundred years, Ye Wen had even searched that space specifically, but found nothing.

Now the mystery was solved—the plane consciousness had been hiding inside the Snow Empress's body.

But was he really that frightening? Ye Wen thought with some displeasure, his gaze growing increasingly mischievous. He stroked his slightly stubbled chin and said,

"So that's how it is—you were afraid I'd harm you? That's understandable, human nature after all.

But Snow Empress, didn't you tell the plane consciousness about my character? Do I seem like someone who would harm it?"

The Snow Empress calmly shook her head and continued, "I did try to communicate, but due to the betrayal of the Dragon God, the plane consciousness developed severe psychological trauma and refused to listen to me.

And Master, you must have noticed by now—the plane consciousness's mind is still immature. Coupled with its past trauma, it has become extremely stubborn. No matter how much I've tried to persuade it, there's been no effect."

Ye Wen nodded in agreement. The Snow Empress's earlier behavior was indeed not that of a mature adult.

However, upon reflection, Ye Wen realized that the plane consciousness, having existed for at least thirty thousand years since its birth, shouldn't logically be so immature.

But with Ye Wen's wisdom, he connected the dots regarding the psychological scars left by the Dragon God—it made sense.

Everyone understood the intelligence of soul beasts from ten thousand years ago. If the plane consciousness had been born during that era, it wouldn't have learned much about the darker aspects of human nature.

Moreover, based on Ye Wen's years of observation and analysis of Douluo Star, the planet's original state could support the emergence of at least twenty gods—a truly terrifying foundation in this universe.

Yet, since the dawn of humanity on Douluo Star, only four gods had emerged, with just one of them reaching the level of God King.

From what Ye Wen knew of the Dragon God era, aside from the Dragon God himself as the strongest, he also commanded the Nine Dragon Children and the Nine Dragon Kings—all of whom were God King-level experts.

If these powerful beings were nurtured by Douluo Star's original energy reserves, then it could only mean one thing:

Dragon God, you bastard, you're ruthless!!!

As previously mentioned, plundering a planet's faith energy was akin to slowly killing it. And the Dragon God had drained such an immense amount of energy from Douluo Star that the world consciousness, intrinsically tied to the planet, must have suffered severe damage as well.

Ye Wen vaguely recalled an online tidbit from his previous life—apparently, in the original story, Douluo Star's world consciousness was later usurped by Tang Hao, that scumbag.

How weak must Douluo Star have become for a single human to take over an entire planet's consciousness?

Speaking of which, Ye Wen only remembered reading up to Douluo II, with other information scattered across various online sources.

In the first two parts of Douluo, there didn't seem to be much mention of the plane consciousness. So why did Douluo Star expend its already limited essence to resurrect itself? Perhaps it foresaw this piece of information.

For a moment, Ye Wen chuckled wryly. He had never seriously considered this question before, but looking back now, it was quite intriguing.

Still, a lingering question remained in Ye Wen's mind.

"Snow Empress, the plane consciousness resides within you, but you've been out campaigning recently. Won't its absence affect the planet?"

The Snow Empress hadn't expected Ye Wen to ask this question and paused thoughtfully. Ye Wen knew she was communicating with the plane consciousness inside her.

How did he know? Because the Snow Empress's demeanor shifted again, regaining a slightly timid quality.

"You're answering personally? Seems like you're starting to get used to talking with me," Ye Wen remarked with a faint smile.

The Snow Empress's graceful figure trembled slightly, but she quickly composed herself and glared at Ye Wen with a forced calm.

"I haven't completely left—I've just hidden myself deeply. You simply didn't notice me.

Besides, once you ascend to godhood, can't you split off a divine consciousness to act independently? Same principle."

Though her words were blunt, the logic held. Ye Wen nodded in acknowledgment, then fell silent.

He was now pondering how to handle his relationship with the plane consciousness.

Strictly speaking, apart from the plane consciousness, all life on Douluo Star was merely an attachment—or even a parasite—to the planet.

But after so many years, Ye Wen had come to regard Douluo Star as his home. Now that the original owner had emerged, the question of ownership was a dilemma—giving it up or not giving it up both felt wrong, leaving Ye Wen deeply conflicted.

Seeing Ye Wen remain motionless for a long while, the plane consciousness grew frustrated. It had mustered the courage to emerge and speak, but this savior it had chosen was being unresponsive!

"Hey! Hey! Ye Wen, I'm talking to you!"
