She looked at him and then she swallowed visibly before walking to sit in front of him. She looked over her shoulder at him and their eyes met. “You really should consider trying to avoid attention.” He said it to her for her own good, but the look on her face told him that she took it the wrong way. He sighed and shook his head. “I’m sorry you started with a bad day.” He added, and Chloe looked around the class with a frown on her face. He could tell that she was have been surprised that he said that and that was why she was looking around.
He smirked and said. “I just feel sorry, that’s all.” He bit his tongue as soon as he realized how that sounded, and he wanted to slap some sense into himself. That sounded, even more, worse than telling her not to get attention to herself.
He shut up after that and faced the teacher, leaving her to do the same. He felt someone tap her and the girl beside him passed him a sheet of paper. She whispered. “It’s from Zoe” and faced front as if she hadn’t spoken. He looked at Zoe to see her looking at him weirdly and then he opened the folded paper and read it.
“What the heck are you talking about with that weird looking girl?” That was what she had written. He shook his head with a sigh. Even his friend wanted him to have nothing to do with her. It was as if they knew he was feeling a particular type of way; a strange way when he was with her. He looked at Zoe and mouthed. “Nothing.” And then he tore up the paper and threw it on the floor in front of him. He wouldn’t want anyone suspecting what he was feeling, but he still wanted to be with her so bullying her it was. All options were pointing to that being the only way, any way, so it wasn't as if it was just his choice to do that.
From the corner of his eyes, he saw Zoe glaring at her and he sighed. He focused again on the teacher, but he wasn’t really following.
Twenty five minutes to half an hour later, the bell rang and he lazily got up and started to pack his stuff. He would be heading to the cafeteria soon with Zoe, Liam and Dana would join in on the way.
The cafeteria offered less drama, and soon, he was going to his last class for the day. He remembered that he had to go pick up his brother from school and he smiled. It was such a good feeling, the way he felt with that boy. He was such a very sweet boy for a boy his age, and he was just so mature for his age as well. He settled into his usual seat and looked around to see that there was no Liam, Zoe, or Dana in his class, and Chloe wasn’t there too. He sighed and counted the time until they could leave school and go home. The end of the final period soon came and he was already waiting with his bag packed and ready to leave. He stood up and walked out of the class, and then he walked outside, using the back door that was closest to the parking lot, and got into his car.
His friends don’t usually follow him to school, because Zoe's father's driver always came to pick her up and Dana follows as well. Liam always worked at his uncle's place after school so he follows the school bus. He drove to his brother’s school which was a little bit far from his. When he got there, he saw his brother sitting on the bench that was under the tree in front of the school waiting for him, but he was with another boy, a boy he had never seen before.
There was a smile on Sander's face as he spoke to the boy, and he wondered what they were talking about. He parked his Range Rover sports car and got down, and then he walked to where they sat down. As he approached them, Sander saw him and then he smiled at him and grabbed the other boy's hand. He pulled him up and started to walk him to Zach.
“Hey, Zach.” He said when they got to him. He could tell that he had a good day today, or maybe his good mood was due to this boy that was wearing glasses. The boy looked happy with a happy look on his face. He was carrying a Spiderman bag pack and his lunch pack was a Spiderman-made bag as well. He just loved that, and that must be why his brother was first drawn to him.
Sander loved Spiderman as well, but he wasn’t as bold in carrying a bag pack and lunch pack made with it. He was always so shy about what he would do for everyone to see. The only person he wasn’t so shy with was Zach and they talked about everything.
“Zach, meet Camden. He’s my new friend. He loves spiders like me, and he’s a Spiderman fan.” He said as he looked up at his brother.
Zach chuckled as he ruffled his brother's hair with his fingers and said. “Yeah, little man. I can see that.” He looked at the boy smiling up at him and he said.
“Nice to meet you, Camden, my name is Zachary but you can call me Zach.” He said to the boy.
Camden adjusted his glasses and nodded at that. “Okay, Zach. Nice to meet you.” He said.
“Camden is new and he is the only one that talked to me first,” Sander explained how they came to talk. Zach nodded and he ruffled Camden's hair as well. “That’s good, making new friends and all.” He said with a grin. “You must be new, right?” he asked Camden and he nodded.
“Yes!” he nodded enthusiastically.
Smiling, he nodded.
A car parked behind his Range Rover and he looked back to see a man behind the wheels of the car. He saw Camden wave and said. “That's my Dad.”
Sander waved at his new friend and then Camden did the same at him before running towards the car. He got in and waved again. The man looked at him for a few seconds and then he drove off.
“We should go, Sand.” He said. He sometimes call his brother that, just whenever he was acting all mature and cool. Sander grinned and nodded his head, then he walked to the car.
Zach looked to the space where the man had parked to pick his son up which was now empty, and he squinted his eyes. Something about Camden seemed familiar but he couldn’t place his hand on it. He hoped that it would all click together soon because he wouldn’t be able to take his mind off of it until then. His mind always had this nagging sensation every time he was trying to figure something out, and would only stop when he got the answer.
Sighing, he walked to the car and got in. He watched Sander strap in his seat belt, made sure that it was secured and then he pulled out of the curb.
