As she pulled Hailey into a hug, Chloe rested her head against hers and let her cry, then she swallowed down the tears that were threatening to surface as well.
This wasn't the time to remember her own pain, she needed to be there for her friend, and help her in any way that she could.
Sniffing, she tightened her arms around her and closed her eyes, staying like that for a long, long time. When she realized that Hailey wasn't shaking in her arms anymore, or crying, she opened her eyes and pulled back to look at her.
“Are you sleeping, Hailey?” she asked and Hailey shook her head. “Of course you were.” She accused, smiling.
Hailey shook her head again. “No, Chloe. I'm not sleeping, I'm just thinking.” She explained.
“Hmm, I see. What are you thinking about, though?” she asked her as she pushed her gently so that she was now facing her instead of resting against her.
