Chapter 30 – Not This Again
Murmurs filled the air as countless eyes locked onto the newly arrived figures—none other than the twins who had caused chaos in the secret realm and killed Wutian. Though many were curious about their identities, they hesitated to ask. Most of them were only at the Inferno Realm, with the number of Horizon Realm gods present barely reaching five.
Ella's heart sank as she scanned the crowd, realizing they had been directly teleported into one of the most populated areas. Rage flared within her. Damn that secret realm! Couldn't it have sent us somewhere safer?
"This is outrageous… fuck," Ella muttered under her breath, suppressing her fury.
Suddenly, four elderly men descended from their seats, appearing before them. Two of them gazed at Ella and Olivia with undisguised excitement, while the other two wore stern expressions, their eyes filled with contempt.
Ella instinctively tightened her grip around Olivia, preparing to attack at a moment's notice. However, she maintained a polite demeanor, her lips curving into a deceptive smile.
"Um, Elders… may I ask what brings you to us?" she asked, her tone measured and cautious.
The two white-robed elders nodded approvingly, seemingly pleased by her respectful response. In contrast, the black-robed elders scowled. One of them immediately spoke, his voice sharp.
"Who are you two? What family do you belong to?"
The loud demand startled Olivia awake. She lazily opened her eyes and glanced at the two black-robed elders, noting the intricate golden patterns adorning their robes. Even though they were acting rudely, the white-robed elders remained silent, allowing the questioning to continue.
Ella's mind worked fast. She couldn't afford to expose their true identities. Flashing a calm smile, she lied effortlessly.
"My name is Ruby, and this is my little sister, Darana. We have no background—we're just ordinary wanderers."
Silence stretched for a moment. Ella believed they would accept her answer, but she had underestimated the situation.
The surrounding gods who had witnessed the events inside the secret realm exchanged knowing glances. The twins' faces were far too recognizable—there was no way their words would be believed so easily.
The black-robed elder's expression darkened. "Lies! Do you take us for fools? Everyone here has some background! Are you mocking us?!"
The white-robed elder beside him sighed and interjected, "Enough. There's a possibility they're telling the truth. Let's not be so quick to judge."
"You old coot, stop interfering," the black-robed elder snapped. "You're just trying to flatter them so they'll join your family."
The white-robed elder twitched slightly at the accusation but didn't refute it. After all, it wasn't entirely wrong—they had indeed hoped to recruit the girls.
The black-robed elder, however, wasn't finished. His gaze sharpened. "Have you heard of the name Wutian?"
Ella's body tensed, but she didn't hesitate. With a confused tilt of her head, she responded, "No, not at all. In fact, we've never encountered anyone by that name. Right, Darana?"
She turned to Olivia, signaling her to play along.
Olivia, however, was not pleased by the alias Ella had chosen for her. She shot Ella a slight glare before reluctantly nodding.
"Yeah, we've never heard that name before. Ruby and I didn't encounter anyone like that." Her tone was calm and uninterested.
Ella pressed further, feigning innocence. "Elder, is this Wutian someone important? Does he have a grudge against you?"
To their credit, their acting was impeccable, but unfortunately, it was pointless.
The gods in the grand arena—those who had witnessed everything inside the secret realm—were already fully aware of the truth. If they hadn't seen the twins before, they might have been convinced by their flawless performance.
"Bullshit!" the black-robed elder roared. "Who do you think you're fooling?! If you don't reveal your true backgrounds, you'll face the consequences!"
The space around him twisted, his Horizon Realm aura surging violently.
Ella's expression instantly turned cold. Murderous intent flickered in her eyes as she silently gathered 70% of her power, ready to retaliate at the slightest sign of hostility.
The crowd murmured excitedly, sensing an imminent clash.
Still, Ella kept up her polite facade. "Elders, I don't understand. We're not lying. We have no idea who this Wutian is. Why are you threatening us?"
Her composed response only infuriated the black-robed elders further.
Just as their rage peaked, a terrifying pressure descended upon the arena.
"CRACK—"
Space shattered in front of them.
A single hand emerged from the void, fingers grasping the air.
The moment the black-robed elders made contact with it, their bodies began to disintegrate.
Their eyes widened in terror. "S-Senior! What have we done to offend you?!"
Their words were cut short as they were pulled into the abyss, their bodies breaking apart into nothingness.
A wave of absolute silence swept through the arena.
Ella stood frozen, eyes locked onto the mysterious hand that had just wiped out two Horizon Realm gods as if they were mere insects.
A strange sense of familiarity welled up within her.
Olivia, however, didn't hesitate. The moment a figure stepped through the spatial crack, she immediately jumped forward and threw herself into their embrace.
"Mom!"
Ella's breath caught.
There was no doubt now. The person who had just annihilated two Horizon Realm elders with a flick of her wrist was none other than their current biological mother, Yula.
The arena erupted into shock.
Even the white-robed elders, who had been plotting to recruit the twins, now felt a chilling pressure descend upon them.
Yula gazed down at her daughters, her once cold and distant expression softening as Olivia cuddled into her chest.
"Mom, Mom! I missed you!" Olivia buried her face into Yula's embrace, causing her ample chest to jiggle slightly.
Ella, though far more reserved, still stepped forward and wrapped her arms around her mother. "Welcome back, Mother."
Yula, who had expended great strength moments ago, suddenly felt rejuvenated.
A warmth filled her very soul, and her cold demeanor shattered under the overwhelming love of her daughters.
A soft blush crept onto her cheeks as she held them tightly.
"I'm back, Olivia. Ella. Mother is here now."
Then, her gaze turned frosty once more.
"Tell me, my dears… did anyone try to bully you? Mother will punish them for you."
Her intimidating aura surged, sending shivers down the spines of every god in the arena.
But instead of taking advantage of her offer, Olivia simply yawned.
"Mom, let's just go home. I'm hungry, and this walk was tiring."
Ella nodded in agreement.
Yula sighed and smiled. "Very well. Mother will take you home."
But just as she was about to open a spatial rift, her expression suddenly changed.
A heavy pressure descended upon the arena once more.
Ella and Olivia turned their gazes upward.
From the private room, two figures descended.
Their blue hair swayed with the wind, their aura overwhelming—a father and daughter duo from the 70th Heaven.
Their eyes gleamed with undisguised excitement as they gazed at Ella and Olivia.
"Found you."
