Chapter 39 Am I Sick?

When Xie Yan saw my defensive expression, a trace of disappointment flashed in his eyes. I tightly gripped the metal ornament in my hand and didn't relax.

"Xie Yan, who on earth are you?"

"Mianmian." Xie Yan said with a hint of desolation. His gaze fixed firmly on me. Before I could make my next move, he quickly stepped forward and took the ornament out of my hand.

My palm suddenly became empty. Before I could regain my senses, Xie Yan hugged me. His broad palm gently stroked my back. Xie Yan's cold breath fell on the side of my neck, and he called my name in a hoarse voice, "Mianmian, Mianmian."

There was an emotion in his magnetic and deep voice that I couldn't quite distinguish. I let Xie Yan hold me. His hand was still very cold, and even through my clothes, I could clearly feel his patience and tenderness.

Everything that happened last night was still vivid in my mind. I couldn't convince myself that it was just a dream.

"Xie Yan, am I sick?" I thought that mentally ill people often had hallucinations.

After I said that, the hand with which Xie Yan was comforting me suddenly stopped. I felt that his chin resting on my shoulder was tense. I lowered my eyes and smiled softly. "Xie Yan, I'm sick, right?"

I could hear Xie Yan's gentle breathing in my ear. The slightly cool touch made me feel unreal. Human breath is usually warm, but why did I always feel that Xie Yan's breath was cold?

After a long time, Xie Yan let go of me. He lowered his eyes and looked into mine. I saw the turbulent emotions hidden in his pitch-black eyes.

There was also a hint of hesitation. I opened my mouth to confirm again, but I saw Xie Yan nod. "It doesn't matter. If you can't sleep well, I'll take you to see a doctor."

My heart tightened when these words fell. Although Xie Yan didn't answer my question directly, I already knew the answer.

I'm sick.

I secretly let out a sigh of relief and felt a bit relieved in my heart. If everything I saw were just my hallucinations, did that mean that Xie Yan wasn't a bad person?

After packing up our things, Xie Yan took me to the hospital. Xie Yan thoughtfully found a doctor for me.

"Sorry, I need to talk to the patient alone." The doctor said to Xie Yan behind me.

Xie Yan frowned, and his thin lips were pursed, looking a bit unhappy. He probably didn't feel at ease leaving me alone with the doctor.

"Xie Yan, it's okay. I'll be done soon." I said softly to comfort Xie Yan.

After my words fell, Xie Yan's gaze shifted from the doctor to me. He looked at me with a deep gaze and then nodded, holding my hand and saying, "Okay, then I'll wait outside for you."

After the door closed, the doctor led me to the sofa and gave me a form. I quickly glanced at it and found that it was filled with very ordinary daily questions. After I filled them out one by one, the doctor gave me a reply.

"Madam, there's nothing wrong with your mental state." The doctor said with certainty.

"It's impossible." I shook my head. "I can see my husband killing people, and I can dream about my husband's non-existent younger brother. I can even dream about people I've met during the day at night. Is that normal?"

When I mentioned the killing, I saw the doctor's eyes widen in surprise.

After I finished speaking, the doctor frowned and looked at the form I filled out again. Then he said to me, "This form is professional. If you think your husband has killed someone or committed a crime, I can help you call the police."

As soon as he finished speaking, the doctor reached out to pick up the phone.

"No."

I raised my hand to stop the doctor. I hesitated and shook my head, struggling internally to deny my own words. "Maybe I just can't sleep well. You can just prescribe me some medicine to soothe my nerves."

Deep down, I still didn't want to believe the unbearable side of Xie Yan.

The doctor casually nodded and prescribed the medicine for me. I took the prescription to get the medicine. As soon as I walked out of the pharmacy, I bumped into someone.

With a crash, all the medicine in my arms scattered to the ground.

I hit my forehead, and the numbing pain made me dizzy and my vision go dark. At this moment, a voice rang in my ear, "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to."

There were a lot of people in the hospital, and it was normal to bump into someone.

Although I didn't see the person's face clearly, I didn't want to pursue the matter, so I casually said, "It's okay."

As soon as I finished speaking, someone stuffed a bunch of things into my arms. The person said again, "These are your medicines. They fell on the ground just now."

The large packets of medicine in my arms were heavy. I held the medicine firmly and looked up. With a blurry vision, I looked at the person in front of me and vaguely felt that the outline of this person looked very familiar.

The person's voice flashed in my ear, and I was taken aback. Wasn't this the voice of Shen Yue?

I rubbed my eyes and looked closely, but the person had already walked away. However, from the back view, I could tell that the person was Shen Yue. Although I had only met her a few times, I recognized Shen Yue's back.

"Shen Yue!"

Somehow, I called out. My clear female voice echoed in the hospital corridor. I saw Shen Yue's rapid steps pause for a moment, and then she quickened her pace and walked away.

Strange. I frowned in confusion.

Shen Yue clearly knew me. Why did she act as if she didn't recognize me just now?

I was puzzled as I returned to the doctor's office. Xie Yan was discussing my situation with the doctor at this time. When he saw me coming, Xie Yan's originally cold face suddenly became gentle.

"Then I trouble you." Xie Yan said indifferently.

"You're welcome." The doctor said politely. Seeing me come over, the doctor also smiled and asked, "Have you got all the medicine?"

I nodded and showed the medicine in my hand to the doctor. "I've already got it."

After the doctor explained how to take the medicine, Xie Yan and I went home. Xie Yan drove in silence, and I sat in the passenger seat. Suddenly, I thought of the incident of seeing Shen Yue.

I wanted to tell Xie Yan, but then I suddenly thought of the danger that Shen Yue had brought me last time.

Forget it.

Otherwise, Xie Yan would also be worried.

After we got home, Xie Yan helped me pour a glass of warm water. I picked up the medicine and carefully read the instructions for taking it. The white tablets in my palm seemed to be more numerous. I looked at the tablets and felt something was strange.

When I got the medicine, I remembered there were only three or four boxes. Why were there now seven or eight boxes?

When Xie Yan saw me staring at the tablets, he thought I was afraid to take the medicine. He came over and put the warm water in my hand. His big hand gently ruffled my long hair.

These are all medicines to soothe the nerves. If Mianmian doesn't want to take them, you don't have to." Xie Yan said softly.

I shook my head when I heard this. If I didn't take the medicine, I might continue to have those strange dreams. In the dreams, Xie Yan was always a bad person. I looked at Xie Yan's overly handsome face in front of me and refused.

"It's okay. I can take them."

I picked up the tablets one by one and took them.

After a few minutes, I began to feel that my vision was dimming, my head was heavy, and a strong sense of sleepiness washed over me. There was a buzzing sound in my ear. Before I could get up, I fell asleep.
